Lent Wellness Challenge Day 50

Lent Challenge Day 50
I have been off line the past two days sorry for the interruption.

As we wrap up our Lent Challenge let’s reflect on the impact the Lent Challenge has had on our lives.  Personally, I gave up more then one dessert a day.  I had many slip ups, but since Easter Sunday I have been continuing to try to stay with this behavior.  I chose this behavior to honor God and treat my body as His temple not my trashcan.  How are you doing?  Have you started a behavioral change in your life to honor God?

1Peter 1:3-9
According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.
4. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  5.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7. And to godliness brotherly kindness;  and to brotherly kindness charity.  8.  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9. But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

These verses in 1 Peter really sum up a God centered holistic life style.   This is the Faith Centered Fitness lifestyle.  We will go over the whole program in greater detail in the weeks to come.

My Lent goal was to get us to start with the simple concept of Holy, Healthy and Happy every day to honor God.  How did you do?

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

  1. It's so good hear that everyone is suceeding in their Lent challenge. I had some success and a few stumbles but I kept getting back on track. I think that was the biggest thing for me because there were times that I would just give up. I learned that no matter what to stay the course because things happen. You fall down but what is important is getting back up.
I wanted to thank you all because it was your emails and thoughts that kept me going. Knowing there were others out there really helped me.

    Thank you,
    Nicole

  2. I like your challenge. I am using this myself and it has changed my attitude towards using food as a coping mechanism instead of leaning upon my Lord, Comforter and Healer. JUlie

  3. MY lent challenge was to honor God when I'm stressed or tired by talking with Him before eating. The challenge really helped me pay attention to why I'm eating and what I'm wanting to eat. I found that talking with God slowed me down and made me think about what mattered most and what was best for me. I've slipped up at times but overall it has been a big change for me and I want to continue this way of approaching food when stressed and tired.
Thanks Kimberly for all of your encouragement, I'm looking forward to learning more.

  4. My Lent challenge was to start Honoring God physically. I chose to try to get in 5 servings of vegetables a day and 8 glasses of water a day. Also to do some physical activity daily that caused me to sweat. I did well the first three weeks. Then I lost control. I had to deal with several new concerns in my life that added stress and I partially reverted back to my old behaviors. I now can see more clearly how I respond in those types of situations and am encouraged that I can do things differently. God is in control of my life and I don't have to respond to stress that way. I am enjoying the exercise as a praise to God. I can let him take care of the stress. I don't need to be in control. I can be holy, healthy, and happy. Judy
