Bible Study April 1st

April 1, 2014
Old Testament Reading;
Numbers 31:25-32:42
Dividing the spoils
31:25 “The Lord said to Moses, 26You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured. Divide the spoils between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.  28.From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the Lord one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep or goats.29Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the Lord’s part.  30From the Israelites half, select one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats or other animals.  Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle.”  31So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord commanded Moses.

32.The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep, 72,000 cattle, 61,000 donkeys and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.

Kimberly’s thoughts; I know God loves each and every one of us.  I know he loved each and every one of those virgin women.  It is hard for me to understand how they were treated as property.  Yet, I do understand that regardless of the dilemma, God does work things out for our good, if we love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28) I trust these women, had benefit from this move.  Sometimes, that is all I can do…TRUST, sometimes things do not make sense to me, for me to get through it all, I simply have to TRUST GOD.

I heard a preacher once say, ”God’s got your back!”  Today is April fools day.  There will be even more foolish things celebrated to day then usual.  Regardless of the seeming insanity of situations, try to remember Jesus is ever present with you, loving you through it all.

Mathew 28:20  “Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

God’s got your back!  Keep on keeping on!!!

New Testament reading
Luke 8:40-9:9
Jesus was walking through a crowd, a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years reached out and touched His cloak to be healed.  Immediately she was healed.
Luke 8:48   “Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you.  Go in peace.”

Psalm 40:1-8
5  “Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done.  The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were to speak and tell of them, they would be to many to declare.”
