Fit Bit ( My Yoke is Easy, My Burden is Light)

Fit Bit (My Yoke is Easy, My burden is Light)

Mathews 11:29-30
“ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;  for I am meek and lowly in heart;  and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

REST=TRUST

Rest, is one of the most important pieces of health and wellness.  Sleep is unconscious rest.  Rest is consciously exhaling while completely trusting God.  Life gives us many stresses.  It is easy to get caught up in worry and fear.  Worry and fear are the opposite of faith.  For me to live a well life,  I have to walk in complete TRUST.  So many things are not the way I would choose.  Yet, I TRUST God and that gives me rest.  One of my friends had me read Job chapters 38-40 when I was thinking I knew more then God.  She told me that I am like a grass hopper,(Isaiah 40:22) I can not ever understand God’s ways, but I can TRUST Him.  Romans 8:28 promises us all things work out for our good, but It is 8:29 that explains, our good is becoming more Christ like.  What I have found with disappointment and pain is that it helps me in my humility.  Humility is a Christ like attribute.  Each of us are going through something.  That is life.  Today, be encouraged to walk in Christ centered rest.  His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( Good sleep equals better thinking)

Fit Bit (Good sleep equals better thinking)

Psalm 3:5.
“I laid me down and slept;  I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.”

Proverbs 3:24.
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid;  When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”

I spent 27 years as a fire fighter for the City of Madison, Wi.  During that time I had many nights of low quality and interrupted sleep.  I had many short nights of sleep.  Sleep experts recommend 7-10 hours of quiet, uninterrupted sleep daily on a regular time schedule.  Many of us 24 hour shifters don’t get that.  I spoke with a friend of mine yesterday who has recently retired from his 24 hour shift work and he mentioned how much better his thinking is, now that his sleep is better.  I too have noticed how my thinking skills have improved since the quality of my sleep has.  Sleep experts compare sleep deprived too intoxicated.

We can improve sleep environments, to help us with good quality sleep.  We can establish regular bedtimes, and bed time routines.  We can put black out shades in our rooms to keep the rooms dark.  We can make sure we do not have screens on while we are trying to sleep or look at screens a half hour before bedtime.  These are physical things we can do to get higher quality sleep.

Many times our inability to sleep is due to worry and fear.  The only way I know to conquer worry and fear is by TRUSTING GOD COMPLETELY.  I used to wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to get  back to sleep because I would toss and turn about things in life.  I have learned to call upon the name of JESUS during these times.  When I call upon His name and truly TRUST He hears my prayer and answers it, even if His answer is not as I would wanted.  When I lay my TRUST, completely in Jesus, knowing that His ways are greater then my ways.   My sleep is sweet and I can start my morning refreshed with better thinking.

I hope this Fit Bit helps you to remember to get good quality sleep through physical and more importantly faithful ways.

Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly

“God’s got this!!” ( No matter what this is!)
Many things I can not understand, but even if I can not understand I can TRUST.

Jeremiah 17:7-8. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord.  Whose confidence (hope) indeed is the Lord.  He will be like a tree planted by water; It sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear the heat comes, and its foliage remains green.  It will not worry, in a year of draught, or cease producing fruit.”
