Fit BIt ( Spirit of theLord not the World)

FIT BIT (Spirit of the Lord not the World)

The hustle and bustle of the Holiday season is very familiar to most people. It’s a common excuse for people to not get back to you or do what they had planned, simply, “ because of the Holidays’”. I think that’s kinda funny.  The Holidays, are the Holy days.  A time to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ.  To reflect on why Jesus was born. He came to pay the price for each of our sins and make us His righteousness.  This is the great exchange.  That alone seems good enough for me, but even more amazing, He rose from the grave and promises each of us eternal life if we believe.   Focusing on Jesus is being filled with the Spirit and not of the World.  Focusing on shopping and feasting, that is the Spirit of the world.  Be careful this Christmas season to be filled with the Spirit of the Lord, verses the spirit of the world.  This Christ centered living is the best way to stay truly FIT for the Holidays!!

1 Corinthians 2:12. “ Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God;  That we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

John 11:25. “ Jesus said to her, “ I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live:  26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?”

Merry Christmas,

Fit Bit ( Do it through Jesus)

Fit Bit (Do it through Jesus)

Dear Lord God,

Today, let me be a good steward of all you have given me, including my physical body.  Please put a guard over my mouth, that I put only nutritious food in and let only nutritious conversations out.  When temptations come upon me, to eat or say things I shouldn’t, please give me your strength.

Through Jesus Holy name I pray,

Amen

As this Holy time of Advent is upon us, so is the massive commercialism and worldly expectations of the Holidays.  In the winter time it is natural for animals to rest more.  Yet, our culture says, speed things up, have parties and spend money,  I believe it is far more natural for us to be still and know that Jesus is Lord.  I personally feel Christmas time is an awesome time to reflect on the miracle of Jesus.  I enjoy the lights and the cookies.  Yet, the reflection of HOLY, helps me the most.  I do get caught up in the hype.  I pray that instead this season, I can all get caught up in the hope.

If I let a fast paced world take me over, I can over eat and speak defeat.  To battle the fast pace of this world at Christmas time,  I need to be still and Know He is God.  I need to be grounded and rooted in His word.  When My feet are on His rock.  I can more easily find the  strength to resist temptation.

Philippians 4:13. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Psalm 46:10 “ Be still and know that I am God.”

Mathew 15:11 “What goes into someones mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

James 3:10. “Out of the same mouth comes praise and cursing, my brothers and sisters, this should not be.”

I hope this little fit Bit, helps you remember to be Holy for the Holidays!

Merry Christmas!!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
