This is a faith-based club.  All forms of fun need to be wholesome.   We will help each other have fun without gluttony, drunkenness, slothfulness envy, etc.…  The club encourages members to read the word of God daily and be immersed in Christian friendships.

When we walk with Jesus Christ, we are made new.  Yet, sometimes our old self tries to sneak back in.  This Fun Club is to help each of us, embrace walking the walk.

Fit Bit ( Got it all)

Fit Bit (Got it all, but)
Dear Kimberly,

I have been doing everything in my power to get ahead.  I have a nice boat, beautiful homes, cars, trucks and a wonderful son.  Yet, I am empty and lonely so much of the time.  I have achieved retirement status at 50.  I thought this would be the happiest time in my life but I find myself short with my son and board.  Why can’t I be content and happy?  I have everything in this world, I could possibly want.

Got it all but something is missing,

Dear Got it all,

The pleasures of this world are nice but they are not what give us true happiness.   Happiness is rooted in your soul.  John 10:10  “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”  I understand looking great on the outside and being empty on the inside.  The only way I have found true happiness is by committing my everyday and every moment to being a follower of Jesus Christ.  I do this by reading His word daily, praying and trusting in Him moment by moment.  If I ever start to feel lonely or unfulfilled, I stop and call on Him.  He is the source of true happiness.

It is nice that you have so many earthy pleasures.  Do you share them?  I find that when I share my things, with people who can’t possibly pay me back in the material sense, I feel fulfilled.  Jesus said in John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.”  After all who cares what you have if you are not using what you have for good?  Evaluate your walk with our Lord.  See where you can improve it.  Try being generous with what you have.  Little things help, like tipping well.  Smiling and saying thank you to the checkout clerk.  Use what you have for His good.

Mathew 16:26  “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Of what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (breaking Chains)

Fit Bit (breaking chains)
Dear Kimberly,

I can’t seem to break the chains of my bad behaviors.  I want to eat healthy, but instead, I dive into frosting.  I want to exercise but I tell myself, “I don’t feel like it”.  I want to respect my husband, but I continually find things that are wrong with him.  My list of poor behaviors goes on and on.  How do I break these chains?
Sincerely,
Breaking chains.

Dear Breaking Chains,

We all struggle.  Most of us want to do better then we do.  Regardless of how good or bad we do, we are forgiven and washed clean, made white as snow through the forgiveness made possible by the blood of Jesus Christ.  Remember this; first and foremost, it is not your behavior that dictates your salvation.  It is your belief that Jesus paid the price for you on the cross, rose from the dead and is now your living savior.  You are made new through His sacrifice.  End of story, Beginning of a new life.  A new life where our hearts desire to do better, yet we still struggle.

When you accept Jesus as your savior.  You are given a helper, the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit will guide you to break the chains.   You know His voice of truth; the voice inside of you that says, “leave the frosting alone, get off the couch, be respectful”…etc.  Problems occur when we ignore the voice of truth.  In order to break the chains of sin we have to embrace Gods’ commands. Pray for His strength and knowledge to direct your path.  Through Christ, all things are possible.  Believe that. Read His word, pray and let His commands be written in your heart through the Holy Spirit.  Each time you do the right thing, it gets easier.  Keep walking the walk to the best of your ability and continually commune with God.  He can change your heart, mind and actions.  Let Him.
Hebrew 10:22  “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

James 4:7  “Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly

Fit Bit (loveing self is not selfish)

Fit Bit (Loving self first is selfish?)

Dear Kimberly,

You teach, love God, love yourself and love others.  I think loving ourselves should come behind loving others.  Why do you put it ahead?  I think putting it ahead makes us selfish.
Sincerely,
Loving self first is selfish

Dear Loving self first is selfish,

I teach love God, love you and love others in that order so we can be healthy enough to use the love of God inside of us to love others.  Our foundation, our cornerstone needs to be “love God, accept His love and continual forgiveness”.  Without this foundation, we can feel, lonely, afraid and easily susceptible to sin.

Loving our selves is not selfish; it is accepting Gods’ love for us and acting accordingly.  Loving ourselves is taking care of us, eating healthy, exercising, managing our lives in accordance to the Bible.   This is Godly discipline.  When we live in His foundation, we have the ability to love others with a pure heart. This is not selfish it is holy.

Love others, Jesus said, “ This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.”  John 15; 12 this is a tall order. We have the ability to love this way, but only if we are walking with God, in the first place.  That is why I teach love God, love your self and love others.

Deuteronomy 6:5 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”

2 John 1:9  “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God.  He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (iced coffee junkie)

Fit Bit (iced coffee junkie)
Dear Kimberly,

I have been doing well on my Wellness challenge sheet.  I have lost 3 pounds.  I keep cheating with my iced coffees.  I just can’t seem to give these up.  Can I trade off something else to keep them in my diet?

Sincerely,
Iced Coffee Junkie

Dear Iced Coffee Junkie,

When you tell me you need Iced Coffee the first thing I wonder is; “are you getting enough sleep at night?”  The fact you need a regular stimulant that is high in calories suggests that you may be out of balance.  Take a good look at your lifestyle and make sure you are walking in God’s peace.  When we live, in to much stress many of us compensate with stimulants or depressants.  Remember to always, trust God and walk in His peace.

If you really want to consume all those calories in one small drink, then cut someplace else to avoid weight issues.  Iced Coffees are empty calories without nutritional value; so it is hard to justify cutting good nutrition for them.  If you feel you need them, cut your starches and fats from the wellness challenge and that will be a solution for weight control.   Your best bet is to drink water, black coffee or tea as your beverage choices.  You can add lemon to your water for a little something special without lots of calories.

Matthew 6:33  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
