Fit Bit (Courageous)

Fit Bit (Be Courageous)
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.”

Be strong and courageous!!  Know Jesus is Lord.   Know Jesus loves you and is with you always. (Mathew 28:20)  He will fill you with His Holy Spirit, giving you strength.

We all are tempted to be lead with our emotions.  We want to eat more then we should, we want to avoid things that are difficult such as exercise and work.  We want to buy things we can’t afford.  Turn from the evil desires of your heart and let Jesus be your guide.  This world tells us, ”It’s OK, give in to your emotional desires, everybody does.” Just because the masses do it, doesn’t make it OK.   Many people overindulge and are lazy, its very humane behavior.   We live in a society that is riddled with debt and adult onset diseases; even our children are getting adult onset diseases.  STOP and Be COURAGEOUS!!!

Mathew 16:23  “Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

Fit Bit (Hydrate)

Fit Bit (Hydrate)
People often mistake thirst for hunger.  This problem is major contributor to people being over weight.  If you find yourself reaching for a snack, and you realize you just ate an hour or two before, STOP, take a drink of water, wait ten minutes and then if you still feel you need that snack, eat it.  This will help you not mistake your thirst for hunger and help you manage your weight.

Water is the best choice to help you quench your thirst.  The average person needs to drink 64 ounces of water a day.  Water, not coffee, tea, diet soda, Gatorade or alcohol is the best choice to hydrate.  Most of us do not need the extra calories associated with the other choices anyway.

The most important water you can drink is His living water.  Jesus quenches a thirst in us for a lifetime.  Through Him, we have the disciple to drink the H2O.

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( Fresh Start agin)

Fit Bit  (Fresh Start, again)
Mathew 11:28-30  “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened. And I will give you rest.  29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

It’s a New Year!!  We are about half way through January.  How are you doing?  Often I start out the year hoping to loose a bit of weight, be better organized and a better steward of my finances.  Usually a couple weeks into my resolutions I am such a complete failure, I simple give up.

My failure is commonplace.  The good news is Jesus is the great conqueror.  Where I fail He can succeed.  I don’t need to be perfect.  I just need to rely on Him.  Through His Holy Spirit He will help me get my life in order.  Not usually instantaneously, but step by step, one day at a time through a continued desire to do this life God’s way.

Maybe you too, can’t seem to loose the weight, manage your bills or start working out regularly, but Christ can through you!!!

Take a Fresh Start challenge, work toward your desires with the Help of Jesus.  If you mess up, and most likely you will, shake it off and keep pressing on!  Jesus doesn’t’ make us perfect in this world; He makes us perfect with God.  His blood has made us forgiven.  So, forgive yourself when you mess up and keep on keeping on through Jesus Christ!!  Enjoy the ease of a moment by moment FRESH START!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( Trust your Salvation)

Fit Bit (Trust your Salvation)
Dear Kimberly,
I once trusted in my salvation, but then something happened that makes me question my salvation.  Please pray for me that I can trust in my salvation again.
Sincerely,
Not Sure

Dear Not Sure,

Be SURE!   Our salvation is not based on what you and I do; it is based on what Jesus did for us on the Cross.  He paid the price for each of our many sins, “ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!”  Our salvation, your salvation is not based on a feeling it is based on Jesus Christ.  The simple answer is, trust in your eternal salvation have FAITH in what Jesus did for you!
Our sinful nature is with us even when we are “Born Again”.  When we are able to walk the walk and do what is right, we may start to feel as though God is pleased with us.  When we mess up we may start to feel as though God is disappointed in us.  The truth is no matter how good we are, its never good enough. No matter how bad we are we are never beyond His Grace.  Our salvation comes because of what Jesus did for us on the cross; any other explanation is based on works.   Your sinful nature wants you to believe there is no way God’s grace is sufficient, Satan will remind you of how messed up you are.  You probably are, we all fall short of the glory of God and need salvation.
Most of us mess up our New Years resolutions.  Many of us have stopped making them because we know we won’t keep them.  That is kind of like our sin.   When we feel the presence and forgiveness of Jesus in our life we may feel pure. Yet, when we fall back into our sin, we may feel unclean and unworthy.  Our salvation is not based on how we feel.  It is based on the one time payment (atonement) for all our sins.  This Year trust in what Jesus did for you, not your feelings.

Hebrews 9:12 “Neither by the blood of goats and claves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained ETERNAL REDEMPTION for us.”

Be fit, be blessed and Happy New Year!!

Kimberly
