Fit Bit (Garbage in Garbage out)

Fit Bit (Garbage in Garbage out)
Recently I was at the doctor’s office with my mother.  My mom’s diet largely consists of sugar.  She is 74 and says, “I am not giving up my sugar!”.  I have been helping her with life and would like her to be healthier.   Sugar increases her inflammation, which makes her back hurt more then it needs to.  Sugar also shows up on the other end in the form of diarrhea.  Her Doc said, “Garbage in Garbage out!”.  Last summer, I also let my health habits fall off.  I started eating corn chips instead of broccoli and drinking diet Kool-Aid instead of water.  I too started noticing my digestive system mess up.

In order to keep my body working well, I try to eat 2-3 cups of fresh fruit every morning and 2-3 cups of broccoli or spinach mid day, a well balanced dinner and drink 64 ounces of water daily.  When I do this and get regular exercise and sleep my health benefits are wonderful.  Today be encouraged to eat well.  Remember “garbage in garbage out.”  That is also true in what we feed our minds and souls.

I love listening to the Prayz Network, http://prayznetwork.com
it really helps feed my mind and soul.

Hebrews 11:25  “Choosing rather to suffer with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Read the book of Daniel chapter one and be encouraged to eat fruits and vegetables.

Fit Bit (Success is in the TRY)

Fit Bit (Success is the “TRY”)
Happy New Year!!

Jan 5,2017. By this time of the New Year usually I have already broken my resolutions.  How are you doing on that?

A New Year or a new day, for me it doesn’t really matter.  I need to start fresh moment by moment.  Sometimes my vice is ice cream, sometimes it is over spending, sometimes a burdened attitude.  Everyday I have something that I really need to leave in the past and start fresh.  If I give myself a bottom line such as January 1, I am going to change and then I don’t change, I can get discouraged and give up.  What I do to be successful is continually try.  I have to walk in continual forgiveness and keep pressing forward in order to reach my goals.

I recently celebrated 12 years of sobriety.  I haven’t drunk alcohol for 12 years and I pray that I will continue this path.  I am 54 years old.  The first time I quit drinking I was 13.  I spent 29 years trying and failing to stay sober.   I hurt many people along that path.  Jesus is the only way I’ve bee able to let go of my regretted past and live in my present moment with strength and courage to keep trying to be a better me.  I used to think if I could only quit drinking I would naturally be better.  Not true, after 29 years of horribly destructive behavior I was faced with a plethora of character defects that have not easily left me.  Yet I am not defined by what I am not, I am defined by who I am.  I am a beautiful child of God.  So are you!

This New Year, this new moment, be encouraged to leave your past in the past and press forward toward the mark with the help of Jesus.  True wellness isn’t reaching your goals; it’s your committed effort to try.

Philippians 3:13-14  “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Be fit, be blessed and enjoy is Happy New Year!
