Fit Bit ( Nutrition)

Fit Bit (Nutrition)

When I eat, I have a “worth it” philosophy.  What I put in my mouth, has to be “worth it”.  What I eat or drink eat has to have needed nutritional value, or it has to taste absolutely amazing.  It works best for me to combine the two.  Years ago, I decided to enjoy foods, that are good for me.  I enjoy eating fresh fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and drinking water.  These foods help me meet my nutritional requirements and they are delicious!!  I taught myself to crave food that are good for me.  I did this years ago,  I used the Scarsdale diet. (This is not an endorsement for that diet). I stayed so hard and fast to this low calorie  diet that when I did eat the good foods it allowed, they tasted amazing, simply because I was so hungry!  Diets, don’t work.  Most people that start a diet do, just what I did, they get very hungry, loose wight and then get sick of the diet and often gain back more then they lost.  What I am encouraging you to do, is enjoy a life style that includes having the “worth it” philosophy when you put something into your mouth.   Yet even more important then what goes into your mouth is what comes out of your mouth.  So be inspired today, gaurd your mouth!!

Matthew 15:11. “What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

Daniel 1:12-15. “12 “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.
15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.

Fit Bit (Exercise)

FT BIT ( Exercise)

1 Timothy 4:8  “ For bodily exercise profiteth little;  but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

This verse is the only one I  know of in the Bible that directly refers to physical exercise.  It is not a big endorsement for exercise.  Yet, physical exercise is important.  Back in Biblical times people had to move (work) to eat.  The Bible refers to work often, that it is very good to work and too dedicate our work unto the Lord joyfully. (Colossians 3:23). In today’ s world we do not even have to get up to change the channel on our television.  Some of you reading this won’t even know that we used to have only three channels and we had to get up and down to change them and turn the TV on and off.  Our technology driven world requires us to move very little.  This sedentary life style is really bad for our physical bodies.  We have a tons of heart decease, high blood pressure and diabetes in our population as a direct result.  This little Fit Bit is to remind you to move more.  It’s important to be a good steward of all God has given us. The main tool we  have to do His work, is the vessel He gave us our bodies.  Be inspired today to take good care of your body, which includes a little exercise.

1 Corinthians 6:19. “What? How ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”

Colossians 3:23. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Recreation)

Fit Bit (Recreation)

What do you love to do for fun?

I love to do many outdoor moving activities.  Yesterday, I took a couple of my friends hiking in the woods so we all could enjoy the fall colors.   It was an amazing experience and in the midst of all that beauty we remembered,  God is amazing!!  When I am doing something I enjoy it is so easy for me to remember to thank God and bask in His glory.  I believe He gives us desires in our heart and He fulfills our longings so that we can remember to praise Him.  Our God is awesome!  He intimately knows and loves each of us!  He created each of us uniquely.  We each have different desires and passions.  We together are one Christian body.  How do we are uniqueness for His glory?  Today’s wellness topic is recreation.  Today, be inspired to share your unique passions for God’s glory, as I did yesterday by taking my friends for a walk in the woods.  Be inspired to show someone what you love to do. Share your fun.   I think when we help each other have fun, giving thanks to God,  we help each other SHINE IN CHRIST.

Psalms 139:13-14 (Read all of Psalm 139 it’s very helpful to remember God loves you intimately)
13
 you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
