Fit Bit (Dating)

Fit Bit (Dating)
Dating in 2018, is kind of ridiculous.

When I was a young woman, we went to the dance club and there we noticed someone that noticed us and danced a couple songs we could tell after a couple dances if we might want to give the guy our number or if we’d move on.   A dance club, a racquetball tournament or some other fun activity was where we’d go for boy meets girl.  Today, Internet dating has taken over the old-fashioned boy meets girl.

At Church Sunday, I spoke with a beautiful young Christian woman, who was looking to meet someone on the Net.  She said, she posted she was interested in a long-term relationship.  I personally think it would be nice for our culture to go back to dance clubs.   I feel like the Net is lonely.  I have tried Internet dating.  I have found it to be time consuming and flat.  I do know of others that have met their spouses there.  I don’t have the solution, but I have heard of groups called “Meet up”.
These are groups of people getting together to participate in an activity they enjoy.
People looking for friends go to “Meet Up”.

Loneliness’ is one of our cultures biggest issues.  Social Media takes up our time, without us really making connections with each other.  I believe our churches have to get the ball rolling with safe, fun social events for all ages.  I think we need to go back to the old ways of Boy meets Girl.

To be healthy we need to be in healthy relationships.  Be inspired to increase your face-to-face time with other Christ centered friends.

Philippians 4:11  “Not that I speak in respect of want; for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, there with to be content.”

Philippians 2:2  “Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”

1 Peter 3:8  Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Fit Bit (The Passing)

Fit Bit (The Passing)
Eternal Life is an amazing concept.

Currently my Dear Uncle Pete is getting ready to go home.  From a far, I want it to be a celebration, celebrate that he will be pain free and living in a peace that surpasses all understanding.  Every time our Pastor give us communion he uses the Phrase, “Go in peace, your sins are forgiven and you have Heaven to look forward to.”  Heaven to look forward to, this is difficult.  I am thankful to know my Uncle knows the Lord and his sins are forgiven and He does have Heaven to look forward to.  Yet, I feel so sad to not see his big smile and big presence in this world.  He is a “bigger then life “ kind of guy.  So it’s hard.  I look forward to going water skiing; I look forward to a good comedy show.  I look forward to spending time with the ones I love.  Pete now gets to go home and spend time with the ones he loves, that he hasn’t been with for a while.  I should feel happy for him, but still I’m sad.

In my imagination, I think if I was with him I would want to be a cheerleader and remind him of the glory, he has awaiting him.   Yet the reality is when our loved ones are passing, it doesn’t feel like a celebration, it hurts.  When my stepfather passed, we had the assurance of upcoming Heaven too, but still, so difficult.

My step grandfather Paul, also another “bigger then life kind of guy”, is too getting ready to go home.  Lord, please give each of us the assurance that Heaven awaits. Remind us continually that there awaits a better life after the passing.

Jesus died for all of our sins, we are all sinners and need a Savior, Jesus paid the price for us, conquered death and all those that believe upon him shall be saved.
We have Heaven to look forward to.

I believe in order for us to be healthy for our loved ones during the passing we have to remember the promises of God.

This is not the end but a new beginning and when one door shuts, another one opens.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

(The thief on the cross, only knew Jesus for a short time, but none the less, was headed to Heaven)

that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together.
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.

Fit Bit (Anxiety)
Anxiety, where does it come from?

For me, I get anxious when I am in the middle of indecision.  It can be in the middle of big or relatively small decisions.  My problem is I don’t take the time to be patient and make good plan and stick with it. I can be easily swayed to and fro which causes me much anxiety.     I am a Christian lady.  I know that the Bible teaches me to “wait on the Lord” I know it teaches me to “be anxious for nothing”.  Yet, when I start out my day without a clear focus or simple plan, even my good knowledge of the Bible, gets put to the back burner.

Today, for me to recover from my looming anxiety, I will come up with a list of things I need to accomplish.  I’ll stick to my list the best I can and trust God along my way.  I will try to stay on track, no matter how many “better” ideas I may come up with.

I hope this little Fit Bit encourages you to attack your day, one bite at a time and not be overtaken with anxiety.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

“But they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary’ and they shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31

“Cast all your anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you.”  1 Peter 5:7

Fit Bit (The Daniel Diet for Summer?)

Fit Bit (The Daniel Diet for Summer?)

It’s Summer Time!!!!!   This is the time of year most of us will get moving more and eat better. We plan for this behavior in January.  How are you doing on your Summer wellness routine?

Be encouraged to “JUST DO IT!”

Fresh fruits are really getting tasty now and the veggies too are pretty marvelous.  This fresh fest will last well into October so…. “GET ON IT!”

The Daniel Diet has become popular in some Christian circles.  It’s a commitment to eat mainly fruits, vegetables and drink water.  I never recommend “diets”.  I recommend healthy life choices that have no time constraints.  Diets do not work for the long term.  Many people get off them and regain all the weight they lost plus some.  Life style changes are “WHERE ITS AT!”

For a healthful Christ Centered lifestyle;
1.     Put Jesus first in your day.  (Mathew 6:33)  His Yoke is easy and burden is light with Him first you won’t be as tempted to “stress out” and make negative lifestyle choices.
2.     Eat 2-3 serving of fruit, 5-7 servings of Vegetables and drink about 64 ounces of water a day.  (Your personal nutritional needs are individually calculated, but this basic recommendation is a guideline from the American Diabetes Association so it’s a good place to start for most people.)
Daniel 1:12-15
12 “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” 14 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.
15 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.”
I hope this little FIT BIT helps motivate you to treat your body like a temple not a trash can this Summer.
Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly
