Fit Bit (Find It)

Today, I am remembering an Amish man I met in the hospitol, when our lovely Erin was passing.  He told me, he had lost his wife and then his son about a year and a-half before.  He said, he had a choice; 1.  Be angry.   2. Figure out what God wanted him to learn.  He choose to try to learn.  I think of his council often.

In the midst of this Covid 19 pandemic, it’s easy to get dismayed and overwhelmed.  A friend of mine expressed that she was not getting her home projects done even though she now has plenty of time and opportunity to do them.  She is not alone in that.  Many people have the time to do things now, but still lack the desire.  I have been a fitness coach for 40 plus years.  People don’t succeed at their fitness goals, mainly because they prefer to stay the way they are more than they desire to change.  If you are one of the people, not getting your projects done, even though you have plenty of time to do them, you are someone who has to FIND IT.  Find the desire to do it differently!!  I can’t teach you that.  You have to DIG DEEP and FIND IT!!  

Joshua 1:9. “Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Education is motivation!  When I need to “FIND IT”.  I get into God’s word.  When I read His word and take the time to really think about what it says and how it applies to my life,  I become more convicted to do, what I know God is leading me to do.  Plus if I am doing something for God, that truly helps my desire.  It helps me, “FIND IT!”

Colossians 3:17. “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Colossians 3:23  “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”


Be inspired today to go and do, what you know God is inspiring you to do!  

(If we don’t get the things on our list done now, when we have time to do them, we might as well take the items off our list, because we will never do them!)

Fit Bit (Hedge of Protection)

This morning I was sitting by my picture window, here at the lake and reading.  When I looked up, I thought I saw my dog Isabelle wondering out unto the ice.  I went to call her back in and noticed it wasn’t my dog but a coyote.  I remembered Isabelle was in fact outside.  I went to call her in and there she was on my deck in a stare off with the coyote.   She came inside and was shaking, then nestled in close to me, (which she hardly ever does).   I am so thankful she wasn’t breakfast for that coyote.  God had put a hedge of protection around her.  Earlier this week, I was driving my old van and my wheel feel off.  I had been driving it over 70 miles and hour on the interstate within 100 miles of it falling off.  It fell off when I was only going about 25.  It was His hedge of protection. Sometimes it's tempting to see what’s wrong and forget about His hedge of protection.  This quarantine we are all going through is like that.  

Job 1:10 “ Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.” 

The story of Job is one of my least favorites in the Bible.  I don’t like that Job, went through so much suffering and lost so much, here on this earth.   Yet the story of Job is in the Bible for a reason.  When my lovely new daughter in law Erin, passed my dear friend had me read job 38 to remind me that I can not understand God but I can TRUST.  I do TRUST that our lovely Erin is safe in our Fathers arms forever, and she has no more pain or no more sorrow.  That even though she passed, she is covered in our Fathers Hedge of Protection.  So that’s what I do, I chose to believe in our fathers ever lasting hedge of protection.  Today I hope this little Fit Bit, inspires you to TRUST in it too.

Fit Bit (Trust in God not man)

1 Corinthians 2:3-5. “And I was with you in weakness, and in fear and in much trembling.  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in the demonstration of Spirit and power;  5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”

The author of this is Paul.  He is famous for his conversion from “Saul” , a persecutor of Christians to “Paul” a follower of Jesus and he wrote most of the New Testament.  His conversion reminds me that it is never too late for any of us to have the great awakening by experiencing the great exchange and start being followers of Jesus.  Paul literally went around killing Christians and Jesus changed his heart and made him new!! 

Paul identifies his speaking is through the power of the Spirit of God.  In todays world it can be so difficult to know where to get the TRUTH.  We see people make decisions in panic. The scammers are coming out to sell and steal.  But we can TRUST in God.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  


There is an old saying, “If you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything”.

Today be inspired to Stand on ROCK ; Jesus is LORD.  Use the Holy Bible to guide your every step. (Let it be a lamp unto your feet.  Psalm 119:105)


During this “Down Time”, for many of us it’s important that we don’t just sit and watch the panic unfold on the TV.  I have a family fitness quest, which is a free download on my website that is a good way to remember to take good care of your life and be a good steward of what you have.  Let me know if you try it.  It’s something constructive to do and GREAT for a family or friends to do together.

Fit Bit (Free Indeed)

John 8:36. “ So, if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed!

This verse has been ringing in my mind today.  With this corona virus, many things are shut down and I am feeling a bit like a caged rat.  I really like to go and do and this having to be still and Trust God, is very difficult.  I am good with trusting God, but the being still, is very difficult for me.  ( I may have to give up coffee :) )


Psalm 46:10 “ He says, “ Be still and know that I am God;  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the Earth.”

So, with many limitations being put upon all of us for the common good, It's easy to think about the restrictions and forget compliance with the restrictions we are helping the common good.  We are all God’s children.  As Christians, we are commanded to love each other. (John 13:34)   We are currently called to love each other by protecting each other, by compiling with all restrictions .  This is a very important way to see our current situation, in order for us to stay healthy in our minds and our hearts.  Back to John 8:36;

John 8:36. “ So, if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed!

Proverbs 23:7  “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”

Philippians 4:8 “ Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.”


Today, my friends be inspired to be FREE IN CHRIST!   True health and wellness starts with Trusting God in all things.  Don’t let your mind put you in a cage, no matter what your circumstances.  YES>>>NO MATTER WHAT!!!
