Fit BIt (Pesky Mosquito)

Fit Bit (The Pesky Mosquito)
It is so beautiful here in the Northwood’s of Wisconsin.   The peace and serenity I find by the lake is amazing!  The tranquil beauty is surely a gift from God.  How could this be anything but, divine design?

The Mosquito, comes in swarms, bites without warning, causes huge welts on your neck, and sleeps in your home…how can he too be part of God’s grand design?

I know the mosquito is a valuable part in the circle of life, up here in the Northwood’s.   Like many other things our loving Heavenly Father has put into His glorious world, He has a purpose even for the pesky Mosquito..

Whatever annoyance and aggravation you maybe facing today…. remember God has His plan at work.

Jeremiah 29:11-13  “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord.  They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  12In those days when you pray, I will listen.  13You will find me when you seek me, if you look for me in earnest.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Fit Bit (Memorial Day)

Fit Bit (Memorial Day)
There is no greater love then to lay down your life for someone else.

Jesus, our great teacher, Lord and Savior is the greatest example of this.

Today, we have many men and women risking their lives daily, for each and every one of us.  Many of them do pay the ultimate sacrifice.  I am truly thankful for our Military!!!  This weekend and beyond, take every opportunity, to intentionally thank a Vet for their great love.

1 John 3:8  “Yet, it is always new, and works for you just as it did for Christ; and as we obey this commandment, “to love one another”, the darkness in our lives disappears and the new light of life in Christ shines in.
9Anyone, who says he is walking in the light of Christ but dislikes his fellow man, is still in darkness.   10But whoever loves his fellow man is “walking in the light,” and can see his way without stumbling around in darkness and sin.

Holiday weekends can be a lot of fun to enjoy each other’s company in times of fellowship.  It can also be a time we get annoyed with each other.  When we take offense, for whatever reason, it steals our joy.   Most of us are not in a position to risk our lives for someone else, but each of us can intentionally love people , where they are at, even if they are acting unlovable.

Be fit, be blessed and enjoy your Memorial Day weekend,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Take off your grave clothes)

Fit Bit (Take off your grave clothes)
John 11:38-44  “Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead”

Lazarus had been dead for four days.  Jesus came to the spot, where he had been laid.
11:43 When He had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”   44The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.  Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

TAKE OFF THE GRAVE CLOTHES.

When I read this I think of shaking off the sin, that so easily ensnares me, WHILE MOVING FORWARD WITH CHRIST! (See Hebrews 12:1)

Yesterday was my birthday, and like all birthdays, I think; “How can I improve my life year?  What sins can I try to eradicate from my life?”  My list is long…. so I will try to just pick a couple things.  When we try to change everything it can become overwhelming and we can easily give up.  Reading this passage from John, gives me extra motivation to take off my grave clothes.  The sins, behaviors that keep me stuck in the muck.

What are your grave clothes?

Can you tackle taking off just one?

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( knowing what to do and doing it)

Fit Bit (Knowing what to do vs. doing it)
James 4:17  “Remember, too, that knowing what is right to do and then not doing it is sin.”

WOW!!  Does this hit hard for me.  What about you?

I know that God has called me to be a better steward of the many blessings He has given me, yet day after day…. I repeat the patterns, I wish to resolve.  It is easier to do, what we know to do, when we do it together.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered,
 two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

A few weeks back I did a youth conference.  One of the youth leaders asked me to come and speak to his men’s group because their men were dying of adult onset diseases earlier then the women. Leaving many women widowed.  I told him it would be more effective if I came to talk with the wives, or the families as a group.  We don’t stand-alone.  Women typically run the home. They buy the groceries, prepare the food and set the tone of the home.  Men usually are the breadwinners and spiritual leaders.  There is an old saying. “Behind every good man is a better woman.”  Women, have a huge role in the health and wellness of their families.  If a family members struggle with sweets, fatty foods, inactivity or lack of time for the Bible, I believe it is our duty to help them.   Having a supportive family atmosphere is essential to help us do, what we know to do.  Ask your family for support and be supportive.

Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we can’t seem to help our loved ones; we can pray them through it.

1 John 5:14-15  "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

God’s timing is not ours; trust he hears and answers your prayers.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
