Fit Bit (resist the flesh)
Dear Kimberly,
I am so sick of
this heart healthy diet. I want salt and
more red meat. I also want more
treats. I am angry that I have to do
this. How do I get my head wrapped
around this?
Sincerely,
Wanting to not resist the flesh.
Dear Resist the Flesh,
Proverbs
23:7 “ As a man thinketh in his heart so
shall he be.”
We all have things we need to stay away from, in order to
live a God centered, balanced life. Each
of us struggles with something.
Currently, yours’ is a heart healthy diet. In order to resist the flesh we have to truly
desire doing so. Every time you think,
“I don’t like this heart healthy stuff”, immediately dismiss that thought and
replace it with;
“God,
Thank you for giving
me the insight and desire to take care of my body as your temple, please keep
my desires upon you and your ways.
Through Jesus name I pray,
Amen.”
In your minds eye see yourself living a healthy life. See yourself being Gods’ love.
When harmful thoughts enter your brain, simply dismiss them,
through prayer trusting in the powerful gift of Jesus.
In order to wrap your head around this choose your thoughts
and keep them Holy.
1 Peter 4:19 “Wherefore
let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their
souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful creator.
Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly
ReplyDeleteTell them that if they want salt and red meat they can, but they will
be unhealthy, out of shape and have a poor appearance.
It has to be a lifestyle, not a diet. diets are for dummies. I myself
live a healthy lifestyle and eat pizza & chocalate dipped cones at
dairy queen but once a week and it is well deserved.
If this person wants these things, tell them to make their workout
more intensive and frequent.
EAT WHAT YOU DESERVE, NOT WANT
i forgot to touch on food being a comfort thing when down and out.
maybe thats the reason for the binge which is understandable and it
happens to all of us. Thats where family and friends come in the
picture to help get us out of the rut....either way, the more bad
things you put in your body, the worse off you will be
