Fit Bit (Encouraging Words)
Last weekend I completed an Iron Man. This is an event, which includes a 2.4-mile
swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run, one right after the other. I was anxious and nervous before the
event. One of the other competitors said
to me, “Good things happen when anxious and nervous meet.” His words were encouraging. What brought me to this event in the first
place were the encouraging words of my friends.
I had people who believed in me and they told me so. I am so thankful for their encouraging words,
with out them I would not have attempted this amazing feet. During this event, I wore a T-shirt that had
the verse, Psalm 60:2 “With God’s help we will do mighty things.” I had a number of people tell me that they
found strength in these encouraging words.
Proverbs 16:24
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to
the bones.”
It could have been easy for me to complain about the
jellyfish, wind and heat yet, when I focused on what was right and being an
encouragement to others, I felt energized and happy.
Today, I am thanking God for encouraging words. I hope this inspires you to be encouraged
through God’s word and encourage others too.
Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly
