Go from the worthless to the worth

Psalm 119:36 “Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. 37 Turn my eyes from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.”

The word of God versus selfish gain and worthless things.  Are we truly seeking  what God wants for our lives? Are we being patient and trusting in His timing?  Or are we manipulating to make our plans succeed.   Let’s turn from the worthless to worth full!!!

Be careful who you chose

Proverbs 22:24 “Do not make friends with a hot tempered man do not associate with one easily angered, 25 or you may learn his ways and get yourself ensnared.”    Be careful wiith who you let in your inner circle.     You may think your kindness will tub off on them but often their anger will rub off on you.

Take care of your family, thanks a Dad that does

1 Timothy 5:4 “But if widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents for this is pleasing to God.”   Take care of your family!!   A father that takes care of his own  family is held in high regard. He is selfless and exhibits sacrificial sharing.   He provides in many ways not only the physical needs of his family but leads spiritually, emotionally and intellectually.   He disciplines with a loving heart, his family is richer for it.   If we all just took care of our own families think of how much better off our world would be. Often we can say they don’t deserve it! We also don’t deserve the love of Jesus but thank God He choses to love us anyways.  Let God’s love for us, inspire us to love those in our own families with this Christ type of guidance.   Thank a dad displaying this type of love today and encourage one that is not to do so.   Let’s go make the world a better place by taking care of our own families.

Confess and believe. Yes its that simple

Romans 10:9-11.  “ That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.   11. As the scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.”

Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart Jesus is Lord, you will be justified, saved and not be put to shame.    Can it be this simple?   Yes it can!!! Stop beating yourself up and simply believe!!!

The thief? Or peace

John 10:10” The thief come only to steal and kill and destroy; I have comes that they may have life, and have it to the full.”   Are you living life to the full?   I used to be consumed  with worry and fear a deep anxiety that wouldn’t leave.   I was chasing things God didn’t want me to have.   Jesus said, “My yoke is easy, my burden is light.”   When my burdens feel heavy, I have to STOP and reevaluate who I am chasing.    Usually when I am full of anxiety I am filling myself full of things from the thief.   I hope this helps you put Him first today.

Believe… it’s that simple

Romans 10:4 “Christ is the end of the law so that  there may be righteousness for anyone who believes.”   Believe!!   All our good works are like filthy rags.  We cant earn our way to Heaven Jesus loved our way to Heaven.   He loved each of us so much that He paid our sin debt in full on the cross, taking all our sins away, removing them as far as the east is from the west and He remembers them no more!!  Even better than this He gives us His right standing, His glory, His perfection.   It is so hard for me to think of myself as forgiven and perfect.  On my own I am not.   Through Christ I am.   Through the powerful gift of Jesus we all are made perfect even with our imperfections.  That means you  too!!!   Believe!!!   It is that simple.

Call upon the name of the Lord

Romans 10:13 “for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  Call on the name of the Lord!!  “Jesus, I need your help.”   Is a prayer I use often.    Simple and to the point.   We all stumble and fall; call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved!!

Can you over look an insult?

Proverbs 12:16 “A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.”

Proverbs 19:11 “ A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.”   Can we over look offenses and insults?    When I do my life is better.   We are all going through something all the time.   My great grandmother used to say, “pray for patience, kindness and understanding.”   Most people are doing the best they can with what they have.   Let’s try our best today to give each other patience, kindness and understanding.

Have you ever told a lie to keep the peace?

Romans 8:5 “Those who live according to to the sinful nature have thier minds set on what that spirit desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have thier minds set on what the Spirit desires.   6 The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and  peace.”   Living in life and peace is what we want.   Have you ever told a lie to “ keep the peace”?  A lie is  a lie, no matter how small,  when we walk in a lie we cannot be tall.      It is so easy to do the wrong thing for the right reason.   It is still the wrong thing!!  Be encouraged today to be bold in walking with the Spirit of Truth no matter how difficult it may be.   Walking in His Spirit is life and peace.😇❤️🙏

TRUST in the hard

1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”   Things not “feel” fair?   Do you think you have an extra dose of hard?   Have you been  trying your best and still the horrible happened?   We can not understand God and His ways.  We cannot understand what He allows and doesn’t allow.   What we can do; TRUST Him in all things.  We cannot understand all things. We can  be thankful in all things.   When I am thankful in all things and TRUST Him in all things I am not enslaved by worry and fear but I am freed  to believe and walk in His peace.  Knowing, He is working evrything for the good.  Not that all things are good l, but all things are working for the good.    Hard times usually draw us closer to God more so than the grand times.  Be teachable today in the hard.   The only way I know to stay healthy and well; TRUST God in all things!!
