Healthy and Well ( sleep-worry)

Healthy and well (Fit Bit sleep/worry)

Comment:

One of the reasons I haven't been able to sleep is because of worry. I really needed this.  See; http://faithcenteredfitness.com/?110300

Response;

Does anyone suffer with sleepless nights due to worry?

God loves each of us so much He knows how many hairs there are on our heads.  Regardless of the situation, He will work it out for good.  We just need to love Him and trust Him.  Some of our family members are facing imamate death. People we love don’t know Jesus.  We are caught in addiction.  We have done something really embarrassing…. The list goes on and on.  No matter what the circumstance, worry cannot change it a bit.  Prayer and faith can.  Once you give a situation to God, trust Him, trust Him, and trust Him!  God answers our prayers as soon as we ask.  We just don’t see the answer until God reveals it.  Once you ask, simply thank Him for taking care of the situation.  His timing is not ours.  His, is perfect timing.  Trust God!  Sleep well.

Mathew 6:27 “ Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “
Mathew 6:34  “ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
Romans 8:28  “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

healthy and Well Comments (rest in faith)

Healthy and Well for 2012(3/11)

Rest in our Stress=Have Faith, Have faith, Have Faith

Recently my son, Channing had a major car accident, which left him fighting for his life.  He saw an angel, possibly Jesus.  He was very close to death.  His bones are healing.  His brain is too.  During, the ER and Hospital stays it was easier to trust God then, now we are home.  In the Hospital, everything was out of my control.  Once we arrived home I felt I should be able to control Chan and his recovery process.  I am still not in control.  I am enlightened. Keenly aware of all the work God still needs to do in Chan and his twin brother.  I have to remember that God brought my older son out of the wildness of age 19.  He also brought me out of the same.  My children may have to fall before they get up.  God has His hand on them.  I know this because I have asked this in Jesus name.  I trust in God’s promises.  Yet, my pain and fear still tries to sneak in.  Today, I am going to immediately replace worry with faith.  The opposite of faith is fear.  If you find yourself in worry and fear, call on Jesus.
 Let our Moto be;

I live in Gods’ promises and not my pain.
Or
I fear not, I live n faith.

We all have something going on.  In order to rest in stress we need to trust God, moment by moment.  How do you remember to trust Him and not fall into hopelessness?

Mathew 7:7  “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Healthy and Well Comments (wk/3)

Healthy and Well Comments (wk/3)

Comment 1;

HI from Alaska,  I am doing OK except with the exercise and eating.  I had a rough eating week end.  Today I am back on track.  Now to get the habit of exercising going.  I do read your post, and I have to other bible daily studies.  I am working on “trusting in the Lord” without question or me taking over.  Since my Mom past away I have had some trouble with letting God do and not me do in my life.

ANNswer 1:

Thanks Judy,

Do you have a health club near by?  Many times having a trainer and scheduled times, help people get going on the exercise and eating right.  I have workout DVDs, you could use mine (others will work too).   Also, try to get a group from your chruch together to do an exercise DVD  once or twice a week, have that group all try to follow the wellness chart.( The nutrition challenge is a good one too.) See; Ecc. 4-12"A three fold cord is not quickly broken."

Trusting in God moment by moment is exactly what we are working on this week.  If it was easy, we wouldn't have to work on it....stay tuned.  Thank you for your response.

Comment 2:

Just been busy, but I'm still here.  Enjoy and appreciate the encouragement you provide. I do read and reread your posts.
I've been doing okay with the eating part.  Been trying to find some fruits to incorporate.  Not a fan of the citrus, but at least the strawberries and blueberries have been good.  Have been doing better getting the daily amounts of veggies.
Still taking time to read my Bible, usually before I leave for work.  As I was driving to work I was listening to the radio and a program where they were studying Psalm 119, so I've been reading and re reading that one along with 2nd Corinthians, which I sort of picked at random.
The good news is I've lost ten pounds since January 1st.  I know I won't continue to lose at this same pace, but I'll take it.
Hope you have a great week

Mary

ANNswer 2:

Fantastic Mary!!!

   I try to get m Citrus in, first thing in the morning.  I make sure I eat two or three serving along with some yogurt and water.  This helps me get off to a good start, each day.  I sometimes make up a fruit salad, but mostly I just make sure I eat an apple and a banana.  Some of my clients have said if they lay out the fruit on their counter or desk it helps them.  Sounds like you are getting the most important part of your health and wellness down.  You are keeping God front and center and calling on Him daily.  That is what will give you the peace in your heart so you can have strength and discipline in you body.

  Thank you for your response.  I just again remembered I have not sent you out the Dvds.  I promise to do so today.  I am just going to send you Cardio Grace for now.  If I send you all three it maybe over whelming.  When you receive Cardio Grace... just take one twenty-minute section at a time.   Do what you can and improve by 10% a week.  When I first started exercising I was a young 16 year old at an ideal weight and I could only jump rope for one minute at a time.  Pretty soon I was jumping to both sides of my favorite albums.  My points being add exercise and take it slow, listening to your body all the way.  (Make sure your Doc has cleared you for a workout program before you get started.)  Have you started getting up from your desk on the hour and walking for five minutes? (Even one to two minutes n the hour helps)

Comment three:
Good morning. I'm still working on getting enough sleep. Recently me sleep patern has been way off. I can fall asleep easily I just can't stay asleep. I have been using meditations to try and go back to sleep. But for the most part I am up all night.

As for the chart, I have a daily to-do list on my phone and everything important goes on that. So I keep track during the day with that.

Nicole
ANNswer 3;
All right Nicole!

    Having a plan (to do list) is a great way to stay focused.  Is your time with God on your list?
I used to have difficulty staying a sleep. Now, when I awake in the middle of the night and can't easily get back to sleep, I call upon Jesus.  I literally call His name and think of Him only.  I meditate on His name.  If a worrisome thought try’s to enter in, I let it go and continue to think on Him.  Some of my clients, have said they envision themselves sitting on Jesus’s lap, being loved by Him, just as a child being loved by their Mother.  This always helps me calm down, allowing me to fall back to a sweet sleep. (Proverbs 3:24)  I have never used sleeps aids myself.  I have always been afraid of there addictive nature and the side effects in the morning.

Are you exercising daily?  Regular exercise helps in getting good sleep.

Thank you so much for staying in touch!

Comment 4:
Hi,
Well, as last week rolled along I ate more and more stuff for all the wrong reasons.  I have a long list of excuses but I know that is not going to help me.  So today is a new day and I want to do what is right.  With Jesus's help I know I can.  This morning I read Galatians 5:25 " If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."  Last week, I walked on my own strength and failed to honor God or myself.  This week I'm praying for a different testimony.   Today I will put my fitness chart by my water pitcher and I will focus on drinking my water and eating my fruit and veggies.
Thanks Kimberly for the emails.  They help me a lot.  And thanks to everyone else trying to be fit.  We are all going to blow it at times but we can help each other up and remind each other that it is worth the effort to keep on trying.
With God's strength,
Barbara

ANNswer 4:
Beautiful Barbara,  I could not have said it better.  Keep on Keeping on!!!

Healthy and well (Rest in Stress)

Healthy and Well 2012  (Rest in Stress)
Being able to cast our cares starts in our thought life.

We each have the ability to control how we think. We decide what we will think about.  If we are thinking about how much we deserve a piece of chocolate cake eventually we will be eating chocolate cake!
Romans 12; 1-2  “ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies s a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.  2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

We are transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Behavioral Science tells us the effects of our thinking:
1st thought = dismissible immediately
2nd thought= still dismissible
3trd thought= creates feeling or desire

4th thought=Action

So if you think:

1.     I don’t feel like exercising
2.     I don’t want to get sweaty
3.     I don’t feel like changing clothes
Feeling; you will desire to do anything besides exercise
       4.   I don’t have time anyway.
Action; you will be headed to the couch or the fridge.

If we attack our toxic thoughts immediately we are more likely to succeed.

Example;
1.     I don’t feel like exercising- Immediately dismiss =combat the thought;
I am not going to let my revolving feelings dictate my life!  I am going to workout! I have made a promise to God to treat my body like His temple not my trashcan!
Action; you are on your way to your workout!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Healthy and well (Rest in Stress)

Healthy and Well (week three)
Good Morning,

   I hope you had a great weekend.  How are you doing?  This is the least response I have ever had from any of my programs.  So I am genuinely wondering how many are still with me here.  Please give us an update on your status.

The first week we concentrated on loving God, trusting Him, spending time with Him daily, reading His word.   By doing this we have the ROCK we need for our health and wellness.
The second week we concentrated on getting enough sleep.  If we are sleep deprived we are more likely to over eat and feel overwhelmed.
This week our focus is “CASTING OUR CARES FOR HE CARES FOR US”.  Rest in our stress.

Even when we love God and get enough sleep life still happens.  We all have things,  steel our joy.  What do you do when life gets tuff?  (Please share …let us know what you do now and if you prefer to do something different.)  This week we want to focus on being able to cast our cares.  If we perseverate on a thought it expands.  Be able to recognize a toxic thought and give it to GOD immediately!!

“Be not afraid” God uses this statement over and over again in the Bible.   Fear is paralyzing.  It is a toxic thought.  (1 Peter 3:14)

1 Peter 5:7  “Casting all your cares upon Him; for he careth for you.”  KJV

How are you doing on your chart?  It is difficult to discipline and check off charts.  Keeping a chart is a helpful accountability tool.  This week try to at least look over the Family Fitness Quest chart daily.  Fit it in when you spend your daily time alone with God.  This act will at least remind you to keep your life in BALANCE.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Healthy and Well (Godly sleep)

Healthy and well 2012 (2/8)
This morning I was reading Psalm 25 KJV.  I had an epiphany.

“I call on Thee, I wait on Thee, and you are the only way out of all this mess.”

OK my KJV English and my modern English got a bit mixed up there.  But, you get the point.
 These first two weeks on January we are trying to be;
1.     Centered on God first. (Mathews 6:33”Seek ye, first the kingdom of God.”)
2.      Improve our sleep patterns. (Proverbs 3:24”…Thy sleep shall be sweet.”)

My epiphany this morning is a great culmination of both of these.  Sometimes we can’t sleep because things in our lives bother us.  No matter what is going on God is bigger then our problems.   He will handle it!  Not in our timing or our way, but in His perfect timing and in His perfect way.  When I wait on the Lord and trust Him I can get to sleep.
Here are some other tips on sleep:
1.      Go to bed at the same time every day.
2.     Sleep in the same bed every day; avoid falling asleep on the couch.
3.     Sleep in a quiet, dark environment; avoid falling asleep in front of the TV or radio.
4.     Have a bedtime routine, i.e. Brush teeth, read, pray, sleep.
5.     Participate in daily exercise.
6.     Avoid sugar and caffeine, especially before bedtime.
7.     Eat a balanced diet.
8.     Practice thought control.   Calm your mind by trusting God.  Call on Him, so you can sleep.

Psalm 127:2 “It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.”
Proverbs 3:24  “When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.”

Psalm 25:20-21  “ O keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in Thee.  Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on Thee.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Healthy and well (Sleep vs. junk food)

Healthy and Well for 2012 (2/7)
Sleep;

    Did you know that people who do not get enough sleep tend to be 25 pounds or more over weight?

   This morning I am a bit sleep deprived.  I have already reached for something that was not nutritious.  I was about to put it, in my mouth, for pure entertainment value.  Have you ever done that?

  Today, hopefully you are well rested allowing yourself to make better decisions.  While you are considering your food choices today, Consider this; Is what I am about to eat nutritious?  If the answer is no, reconsider.  Try to make sure you are drinking your water, eating your fruits, veggies and lean proteins. Leave the junk food alone.

Our bodies are His temples!  Let’s not treat them as trashcans!

1 Corinthians 6:19  “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”  KJV

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
