Fit Bit ( Responsibility)

Fit Bit (Responsibility)
Lord, help me be a good steward of the many gifts you have given me.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to work with a woman suffering Depression.  I am her Christian Life Coach.  My job is to help her remember who she is in Christ and motivate her to act like it.  Sounds simple right?

There is an old saying, “Common sense isn’t always common practice.”

We are all given gifts from our Lord; it is our responsibility to use these gifts for His glory.  When we are doing this we “feel” full of His life.  When we squash our talents and believe the lies of Satan (such as, “Your not good enough.  You can’t do that anyway.  Why try again?)  We lose our purpose and feel hopeless.  Good thing it’s not our feelings that determine who we are!  It is the blood of Jesus Christ that has determined our destiny!!  I have heard it said, “feeling are fickle, you go to bed feeling one way and wake up feeling an other, eat chocolate and feel this, eat veggies and feel that.   It is our responsibility to take charge of our lives regardless of our feelings.  Through the Grace of God, we are conquerors in Jesus.  So, next time you “feel”, you just can’t possibly resist the second helping, lack the desire to move or be motivated to use your God given talents.  Remember, God made you on purpose for His purpose, your life is not your own, you have been bought with a price.  Walk in your purpose, you will “feel “ better and find the motivation to “keep on keeping on”, through the energizing gift of His Holy Spirit!!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

1 Corinthians 6:19  “ Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;”

1 Corinthians 12: 27  “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. “

Fit Bit ( run like a deer)

Fit Bit (Run like a Deer)
Habakkuk 3:19  “ The sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer.”

To run like a deer, to fly on the wings of an eagle, implies ease to me.  Jesus said,  “My yolk is easy, my burden is light.”.  If this is so, and I am a Christian, why do things feel so difficult?  Why is it hard to get up and walk let alone run like a deer?

For me, when I feel the difficulty of everyday get up and go, it is often because I am living in wishy/washy.   I am letting myself get tossed back and forth with indecision verses asking God for guidance and then simply running the race with endurance in the path He sets before me.

Today, we are moving out of our Families Lake home.  As I sit here I want to “save it”.  Yet, my decision after prayer, consulting with my children, and following the peace is to be content with what we have.

Sometimes, life is hard.  Good thing His yolk is easy and He frees us up, so we can run like a deer.

Be fit, be blessed and be inspired to let go of what ever is burdening you so you can be free to run, with endurance in a Godly direction.

Fit Bit (What are you gazing at?)

Fit Bit (What are you gazing at?)
Proverbs 23:31-32
31“Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup,
             when it goes down smoothly!
32 In the end it bites like a snake
              and poisons like a viper.”

I used to think of alcohol fondly. I enjoyed “partying with my friends”.  Then something happened it became my obsession, then my destruction.  I am thankful everyday I am able to leave it behind me.  It took me 29 years to STOP fantasizing about it!  I could not give it up, as long as I kept holding it in high regard.  If I gazed at it and wished I could “just be a normal drinker”, I was destined to drink.  Once I decided to see it as poison to me and looked away I was able to leave it behind.  We all have things that we could leave behind.  Be inspired today to stop gazing fondly, at what you want to let go of.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( God Esteem vs. Self Esteem)

Fit Bit (God Esteem vs. Self Esteem)
Luke 9:23
“23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
Today I was listening to Andrew Womack ministries.  He was talking bout this very thing.
In our current culture self-esteem is a center point of raising our children.  We give participation awards out so everyone is a winner.  Is this bad?  I don’t know.  I see it both ways.  What I do know is if my help comes from believing in me, I am lost.  I can be having a “great day “ and the next thing you know I’m messing up again.  If my help comes from me, YUCK!  I can try and try, but I always fall short.  If I relied on my own behavior and accomplishments to feel good, I would be destined to intense failure. No matter how good I am, I am still bad.  When I start picking myself apart, and feel the deserved low esteem attacking me, I try to STOP and remember I am a beautiful child of God.  I am made beautiful because of what Jesus Christ did for me, not because of what I do or fail to do. He takes the bad and works it out for good.  Sometimes I make good decisions and often I make bad ones, but when I have God esteem, thinking of myself as made right and forgive through Jesus.  I have internal desire and strength to keep on keeping on, in a God focused direction.  This keeps me healthy.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Romans 8:28
“28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”

Fit Bit ( Healthy in Mourning)

Fit Bit (Healthy in Mourning)
John 11:25
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;

Yesterday was the 14th anniversary of 9/11.  As a Nation, we mourned the loss of our hero’s, citizens and other victims of that day.   We simply do not know the hour or the day of our own first death.  Death can come in an instant.  In Christ, we need not fear that day.  In Christ death is simply a passing to a new life.  Recently, I lost my dear WWII friend, Chief Frank Vancil to this passing.  It is hard to feel “Fit” when I am grieving.  It is easy to think of, “I wish I would have….” It is easy to concentrate on my loss verses his gain.  I prefer to think of the butterfly.  When the old is gone the new begins.  Death is certainly more difficult for us left behind then those who pass in Christ. In order to be healthy in mourning remember the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
