Fit Bit (sleep vs. "me time")

Fit Bit (sleep vs. me time)
Question:  I know, I need to go to bed earlier in order to get enough rest.  I don’t because that time frame is the only “me time” I have.  Isn’t me time important too?

ANNswer:   Of course “Me time” is important.

1.     Time with God=Love God= Holy
2.     Time to take care of yourself=Love yourself=Healthy
3.     Time to love others=One new Commandment (John 13:34)=Happy

I consider all of the above “Me time”.
Many of us Moms have much demand on our time and it is hard to cut out time for ourselves.  I cope with this by enjoying my moments throughout the day.  I consider my walks with the Dogs, my prayer time, my cooking time (this one is tougher) etc.… Me time.  I think cuddling up in bed, is me time too.

If you lack sleep; you may suffer with a bad attitude and will not be as likely to appreciate the simple pleasures life has to offer you during your daily life.

My suggestion is to find your “me time” earlier in the day…count it all joy.

2 Thessalonians 3:13  “ But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.”

James 1:2  “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

HELATHY AND WELL 2012(6)

Healthy and Well for 2012 (Week2/6)
We are still in our” Jump Start “phase of Healthy and Well for 2012.

Last week we prioritized prayer and reading scripture.  How did you do?  If you are not used to spending time with God daily, you may be still struggling in this area.  Spending time with God daily is the most important part of our health and wellness!  He is our sole source of real strength and peace. (We will be coming back to this when we finish our jump-start.)

This week we are moving to the next item on our Fitness quest.
SLEEP

Sleep is essential!!!  Many people think they can get by on less sleep as they get older, that is simply not true.  When our children are tired we recognize they are crabby and irrational.  When we are tired we think the world is crabby and irrational.
If we want to live our best life here on earth we need to prioritize our sleep.  Today, this week, evaluate your sleep patterns and come up with a plan to get better sleep.  Please share your ideas.
Proverbs 3:24;  “When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid; yea, thou shalt lie down and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Be fit and be blessed,

Fit Bit (can't get started)

Fit Bit (Can’t get started)
Question:  I planned to lose weight, be happier and more financially responsible this New Year.  It is the second week of January and I haven’t changed a bit.  Why is it so hard to get started?  How do I get started?

ANNswer; Old habits are hard to break.  Through Jesus we can break them.

Philippians 4:13  “ I can do all thing through Christ which strengthens me.”

It is hard to get started if your goals are too vague;

In stead of saying “I want to lose weight” Have a plan, I am going to drink 64 ounces of water a day, eat 2-3 servings of fruit, 5-7 servings of veggies, 3-4 servings of protein and stay way from sugar.
Instead of saying  “ I will be happier, decide to smile and think of something pleasant on the hour.  Plan on having a little fun each day.
Instead of saying I will be more financially responsible make a budget and stick with it.

Vague goals can’t be reached specific goals can.

Mathew 7:14  “Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Helathy and well 2012(5)

Healthy and well for 2012(week one/5)
At this point we are all settling to the New Year.  Have you carved out time, daily for Jesus?

He is with us 24/7, (Hebrews 13:5 “I will never leave thee or forsake thee”.) Yet, often we can forget He is here.  When we call upon the name of the Lord He responds!  That is a promise of God!!!  This year we want to live in His promises and not our pain.  Call on the Name of the Lord!

Ask Him In; “Father, I need a little help here; please give me strength, through Jesus name I pray, Amen. “ Is a prayer I use, often.  Sometimes I simply call His name, JESUS.  As I say His name I concentrate on Him.  Immediately I feel His peace.  I get such incredible relief when I call upon Him.  Yet, I still forget and eat the bon bons or complain.  When I reach for anything else, instead of Jesus, I stay in bondage.  My big bondage used to be alcohol and approval seeking.  Now I struggle with food issues and complaining.  I share this because we all are suffering with something.  Ask yourself, what do I turn to instead of God?  Then figure out how to call on our Lord instead.

Some People wear a cross around their neck; some carry a rock in their pocket I remember to call on the Lord daily by starting my mornings off in prayer and reading scripture.  I also try to surround myself with other Christian friends who remind me to call upon our Lord.  How do you remember to call on Him?

Have you asked Jesus into your life?  Do you call on Him in your pain and your joy?

Roman 10:13  " For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Healthy and well for 2012 (week one/3)

Healthy and well for 2012 (week one/3)

I have a small group on an email list for this Healthy and well for 2012 program.  I also thought I would post the information on my blog and on my Faith Centered Fitness Face Book page.

Introduce yourself and tell what you are looking for in this New Year, through our healthy and well program!

This week is a jumpstart.  Look over the 21-day fitness quest.  We are using it as a daily guide to keep life in balance and centered on God.

1.    Mathews 6:33 “ Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.”
The most important part of Healthy and Well is keeping Jesus front and center.  We can call on Him 24/7.  His peace is what will give us the strength and desire to listen to His Holy Spirit and take better care of our lives. Pray and read scripture is how to remember to ask him in!  This doesn’t happen automatically.  We have to schedule the time in; it doesn’t happen if we don’t plan for it.  As we work through this program we will be living our lives on purpose!  His purpose.  What is your plan?

Please share you thoughts,

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Healthy and well for 2012 (week one)

Healthy and Well for 2012  (Week one)
It is the first week on 2012.  Many people have asked me to run the Faith Centered Fitness wellness program in its entirety starting 2012.  With my sons accident I am a bit behind.  I think it is important for us to all take good Godly care of ourselves, and our lives.  With the New Year comes added new enthusiasm.  This week we start the Faith Centered Fitness wellness program.   (Please email me if you want on the Healthy and well for 2012 email list.  I will post the info on my blog and Facebook too.)

What will this program entail?

We will be going through the Faith Centered Fitness program in its entirety.  To get an overview, click on our Logo.

Week one is remembering to keep Jesus front and center in our lives.  On the Logo the fish is driving the bicycle.  The fish represents Jesus.

One of the first miracles Jesus performed was feeding the multitude with a few fish.  He made something out of nothing.  With Christ we can do all things.  With out Him it is very difficult.  Healthy and well is impossible with out Jesus.   Most of us will mess up our best attempts to be well.  The key to success is not getting it perfect; the key to success is “keep on keeping on!”  Jesus provides us continual forgiveness.  With this forgiveness we can leave guilt, shame and condemnation behind and press forward in a fresh, healthful, happy, holy life!

I have attached the 21-day Fitness Quest.  This is an easy to follow chart to help us stay on track in life.  The first item on the chart is Pray and read scripture.  It is number one because it is the most important.  (We can eat more food then featured on the chart it is important to get the food featured in everyday. We will be concentrating on what to do, not what not to do.)

Mathew 6:33  “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Healthy and well for 2012)

Fit Bit (Healthy and Well for 2012)
Question; I have stopped making New Years resolutions because I never keep them.  Yet, I have a sincere desire to be in better shape and have a better life.  How do I get started and stay started??

ANNswer; What ever you do, do it unto the Lord and He will give you strength. When we commit our ways to God we are always accountable to Him.  He never leaves us or forsakes us.  He always knows our hearts and minds.  This is helpful because even if we join weight watchers or hire a personal trainer (both good ideas) those people are only with us once a week or so.  God sees us and loves us 24/7.  He is our ultimate accountability partner!  His Holy Spirit is always nudging us in the right direction.  His Son, our Lord and Savior is always forgiving us. We can continually keep trying, not looking back at our mistakes but pressing forward in His ways.
Guilt and condemnation keeps us sick and unhealthy.  Calling on Jesus, to help us in our everyday life is the first step to staying healthy and well.  This year no matter how many times you screw up on your diet, exercise or faith walk, accept the forgiveness, Jesus died to give you and keep moving forward in His direction.  You will find yourself healthy and well in 2012!

Philippians 3:13  “ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
Philippians 4:13  “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Happy New Year!!!
