Old Testament; Exodus 6:13-8:32
Moses and Aaron approached Pharaoh
and told him to “Let God’s people go”.
Pharaoh’s heart was hard. He
would not. He asked Moses to show him
miracles to prove he was speaking from God.
Moses did. Pharaohs’ heart
remained heard. God sent plagues to
Egypt; He turned the water to blood, brought frogs, gnats and flies. After the flies, Pharaoh agreed to let the
Israelite’s go to the dessert to sacrifice to their God, if Moses would ask God
to take away the flies. Yet, after the
flies were gone Pharaoh’s changed his mind, and withdrew his deal.
Life lesson; in times of trouble,
it is obvious God provides the only way.
It is easy to make empty promises to Him.
New Testament; Mathew 26:47-68
Jesus Arrested
26:50 Jesus replied, “Friend
do what you came for.” Then the men
stepped forward, seized Jesus and arrested him.
51 With that, one of Jesus companions reached for his sword drew it out
and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear. 52 “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus
said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by
the sword.”
Life lesson; fight hatred and
violence with love.
Psalm 19:7-14 14”May the
words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord,
my Rock and my Redeemer.”
