Healthy and Well (fruit 3)

Healthy and Well (fruit 3)
Sometimes we don’t have fresh fruit available to us, what then?

Although fresh is best it is not always available.  Try dried, canned or frozen.

Dried fruit can make a convenient snack.  I like raisins when I feel I need something sweet.  There is a large assortment of dried fruit today.  This is not a free food; meaning low in calories, but it does supply some of the nutritional needs you get from fresh.  Canned fruit is notorious for sugar and high fructose corn syrup, if this is your only choice; rinse the fruit off before you eat it and don’t drink the juice.  Frozen often has good nutritional value, but if fresh isn’t available frozen probably isn’t either.

Are you staying committed, to your Christ centered health and wellness?  This week it is fruit consumption we are developing as a daily habit.   Remember, the best habit we can establish throughout this program and our life is to love God.   Each day of each week we stay on track better if we consume Gods’ word. How are you doing on consuming His word?

Psalm 27:1  “ The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

How is your Lent challenge going ?  Doesn’t it feel good to do something intentionally for God?  I read Psalm 26 this morning.   David must have been amazing.  I am not.  Thank God for Jesus who makes us all amazing!

PS I’ll be off line until Monday.  Have a wonderful weekend!

fit Bit ( Lent )

Fit Bit (Stay on track with Lent)
Question:  I had good intentions with my Lent promise, but I have already blown it.  I feel like giving up.  I can never seem to change my life.  When is your next program?

ANNswer:  You don’t have to change your life, let God change your life.  It doesn’t matter if you are on track with giving up “ X “ for Lent.  What’s important is you are trying to honor God with your life, by staying in a relationship with Him.  This occurs in the heart when you continually remember Jesus loves you, and is with you always.
Mathew 28:20  “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Amen.

Accepting the love of Jesus, His continual and constant forgiveness is the life changer.  This is what FREES us of bondage.  If we give up something for Lent and mess up how is that different then messing up in any other part of our lives?  Jesus came in the flesh and died on the cross for us because we are all mess-ups.  Even though we are all mess- ups, He washes us clean, day in and day out.  This is the life changer.  Don’t worry about how many times you mess up.  Call on His strength and keep on keeping on.

The next program will start after Lent, don’t wait just get back on track today and do what is most important;

Honor God.  Accept His love and forgiveness through Jesus and keep on keeping on.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

SIDE NOTE:

I find it easier to stay connected with God when I read His word (the Bible) daily, pray continually and surround myself with other radically believing Christian friends.

I too have messed up my Lent promise; I wanted to give up sugar; sugar is in many things.  I have amended my promise to give up sweets. I still put flavored creamer into my coffee.  I forgot and ate a fortune cookie yesterday.  God doesn’t love me any less; when He sees me He sees the righteousness of Jesus because I have asked Jesus to be my savior.  With Jesus as your savior He sees you as beautiful.  Don’t let the enemy tell you a lie.
*I don’t think we need to give up anything for Lent; I do it because it helps me focus on honoring God. Fasting behaviors that hurt me during Lent, helps me establish better habits in my life year round.  During Lent I feel an extra motivation. *

Healthy and Well (fruit 2)

Healthy and Well (fruit2)
This week our focus is on eating two – three servings of fruit a day.

How are you doing?    Some people leave the fruit out on their desk and make sure it is gone before they start snacking on other foods.

What do you do?

Are you still drinking 64oz. of water a day?

When we feed our bodies better they perform better.  I guarantee, if you are now drinking the water and eating the fruits you have more energy.  If you are following this program I am confident you are doing better.

Daniel 1:12&15  “ Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat and water to drink…15 and at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Any feed back?  Is this getting to be too much?  I appreciate your feedback.  There is a lot to good health and wellness.  The cornerstone is Christ.  Get that right and everything else will work out.

Healthy and Well (fruit 1)

Healthy and Well (Fruit 1)/ Lent
How are you doing honoring God?  Are you honoring Him in your bodies?  Are you honoring Him in you life?   It is so easy to get caught up in the world and forget to seek first the kingdom of God. (Mathew 6:33)

What keeps us healthy and well?
1.     Honor God, accept His love, love Him back, read His word and pray.
2.     Sleep well.  Keep you body in balance with solid peaceful sleep.
3.     Rest in stress; we all have stress, we all have the promises of God. REST
4.     Recreate, Jesus came that we may have and enjoy our lives.
5.     Exercise; endurance, strength and flexibility are all important.
6.     Nutrition; drink water, eat fresh fruits,

This week we are concentrating on eating fresh fruit daily.  Each day we should consume 2-3 fresh fruits.

Is this already part of your routine?   If so, GREAT! Work on where you are lacking.  If not this week figure out how to add fruits in daily.  Please share your ideas.

I start my day off with 2-3 servings of fruit.  It is what I eat for breakfast combined with yogurt and a whole grain.  A serving size of fruit is about the size of a tennis ball, or even simpler; a natural serving size is  what Gods gives us, a banana, an apple or an orange.  Keep it simple, simple is easier to incorporate into a lifestyle change.

LENT; If you have decided to fast something for Lent, it will be easier to stay in your fast if you concentrate on what to do, rather then what not to do.  Honor God in your life and enjoy doing what you are called to do.

Kimberly
