Healthy and Well (Strength 1)
Last week we focused on Cardio Vascular exercise. Simply…moving more with greater intensity and for prolonged periods of time. How did you do? Did you start a walking, running, swimming or dancing program?
Over the weekend I sent out a Fit Bit regarding water, as we continue on with increasing our physical strength drink plenty of water. It is essential.
This week our focus is to improve our STRENGTH. When I think of strength, I think of is God. “My strength comes from the Lord, creator of Heaven and Earth.”
Quick review;
1. Love God with all your heart, all your soul all your mind and with all your strength. (see Deuteronomy 11:13 & Mathew 6:33)
2. Get 8-10 hours of good quality sleep daily.
3. Rest in Stress, 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast your care for He cares for you.”
4. Recreation, relax and enjoy your life. (John 10:10)
5. Exercise profits the body. (Hebrews 12:11?)
A. Cardio= Endurance=Move it more! Keep on keeping on!!
B. STRENGTH=Increasing muscle= Increasing our abilities
Today, think of how you would like to increase your abilities. Our strength comes from the Lord and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! Strength is so much more then physical. In order to change our lifestyles we first need His strength and direction.
In our physical body we need to keep our muscles strong too. Our muscles support our skeletal structure. Many people have bad backs and week joints due to lack of muscle. After age 40, we loose 10 pounds of muscle every decade. Muscle helps us increase our basil metabolic rate.
We can increase our strength in many ways, let’s start with God then add strength-training exercises for our body.
Proverb 31:17 “ She girdeth her lions with strength, and strengthen her arms.”
Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly
