Romans 8:5 "Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." This passage is helping me look at my motives today. Only by prayer and reading the Bible can I really know which way to go. It's often hard for me to be still and wait upon His direction. But when I do, it's always better.
Sometimes my sinful nature makes me feel separated from God. Christ came and died for each of us while we were yet sinners. Romans 8:38 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neitger height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
