Fit Bit (Try a Nightly FAST)

Fit Bit (Try a Nightly Fast)
Mark 9:29 “And He said unto them, “This kind can come forth by nothing, but prayer and fasting.”

Fasting, I think this is a difficult thing to do.  Recently a fellow fitness expert was explaining to me the weight loss benefit of nightly fasting.  A researcher found that nightly “fasts” really helped individuals control their weight.  I tried this.  I try not to eat anything past seven in the evening, with my 10pm bedtime and I don’t refuel myself until after my morning workout.  It is amazing to me how quickly my body responded to this discipline.  I quickly loose the bloat and a few extra pounds when I do this.  Yet even though it works, I can still talk myself into late meals and late night ice cream. My body also quickly responds to this negative behavior.  In order to have a bit more success, I am going to try remembering to dedicate my nightly fasts to the Lord as way to discipline my body.  Also, there is power in fasting and praying so hopefully that will give me even more benefit then a regular diet.

I hope this inspires you to try a nightly fast unto our Lord so you too can feel the power of discipline in His love.

1 Corinthians 9:27  “But I keep my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

1 Corinthians 2:9  “ But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Fit Bit ( Trusting God with our time and finances)

Fit Bit (Trusting God in our Finances)
Today I am facing a large Vet Bill.  My sons dog was under my watch and it appears that her leg will be need to be x-rayed and beyond.  I am already running a tight ship and this feels a bit overwhelming.  Do you ever feel this way?

My Lent goal is to be a better steward of my finances.  I have been a bit better but still a long way from my goals.  Tithing is something I have not been good at.  I give, but never a full 10% plus.  This is a bit embarrassing considering I want to have a wellness ministry.

I think it is difficult to give when you feel like you don’t have enough.  Often do it anyway and never seem to miss the money or the time.  The reward I get from giving is much greater then the reward I get from holding back.  Yet when times like facing a big vet bill come up I am reminded that my giving is not even close to what it should be.

During Lent we are reminded that it is from dust we come and from dust we will return.  Only what we do for Jesus Christ will last.

Putting God first in our time and finances is a great way to be healthy in these areas.  Yet it is a difficult thing to do when this world is pulling greatly at both of those resources.  I obviously do not have the answers.  I do recognize it is a problem for me, I guess this is the first step.  What about you?  Are you healthy in your time and finances?

Mark 8:36  “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
