Holy for the Holidays (2)

Holy for the Holidays 2013 (2)
Tomorrow is Dec. 1st.   The ticking of time before Christmas is ever present.

What are you filling yourself with?

Are you spending your time thinking of which sale to shop?
Which recipe to use? What party to attend?  How to celebrate?

Keep Christmas Holy this holiday season!   Think on what is pure and Holy. What you think about expands.  If your thoughts are of worry, anxiety, or materialism that is what CHRISTMAS will be for you! In order to guide your thoughts fill yourself with the Word of God.  Read the Bible daily this Holy season.
Schedule this precious time into your already busy day and I guarantee you will have more peace and joy throughout the season. Be Holy this Holiday season by feeding on God’s word!!!!

1 Peter 2:1-2  “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies and all evil speaking, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby;

Be fit and be blessed,

Merry Christmas!!!

Holy for the Holidays

Holy, Health and Happy for the Holidays

Here we are November 26th 2012.  We have less then a month before Christmas.  Over the next few weeks our Fit Bits theme will be Holy, Healthy and Happy for the Holidays.  This week let us continue on in the spirit of Thanksgiving.

“It’s not the happy people who are thankful, it is the thankful people who are happy.”
Life 102.5fm

Now that our Thanksgiving feast is behind us, most of us are tempted to get into the Holiday frenzy.  SLOW DOWN!!!  Holidays are the HOLY DAYS!!!!  SLOW DOWN!!!!!!
This season, live in His love, peace and forgiveness, share that.
Jesus said,
John 13:34 “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

Trampling people over at the mall, pushing and shoving over a material product, being rude to the checkout attendant etc.…where is Christmas love in that?

Do you think it is appropriate to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ with gluttony, drunkenness, indebtedness, stress and hatred? Of course you don’t! Yet, this time of year we easily fall into those behaviors and emotions.  This season, let’s be committed to His love and spread that!!!

Start with being thankful for what you do have.  MAKE A LIST OF THE THINGS YOU ARE THANKFUL FOR.  When we start our season with a thankful heart, we are better equipped to continue on in His love.  If you can’t think of anything to be thankful for…start with Jesus.  He died for you, making you His Beautiful Child.  You are loved!  Jesus Christ loves you intimately, just the way you are with all your imperfections.  Be thankful for that.  Trust and believe in His love, first and foremost this Holy season.  Everything else will fall into place.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (nervous aout the Holidays)

Fit Bit (Nervous about the Holidays)
Dear Kimberly,

I’m nervous about the Holidays.  I don’t have the money to put on a big spread or buy presents.  Every year, I over spend.  This year, I just can’t.  I wish this whole season could just go away.  How do I handle this?

Sincerely,
Nervous about the Holidays

Dear Nervous,

“Casting all your cares upon Him; for He careth for you.”  1 Peter 5:7

This time of year can be wonderful!  Concentrate on the truth.  Let’s start with Thanksgiving.

Proverbs 15:17  “Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.”

In this world we learn that money, feasting and lavish gifts are what the Holidays are about.  Let’s look at the word Holidays. Holidays mean Holy days! This is not a politically correct term designed to, “not offend”.   It is a reminder for us to keep our Holidays Holy!

Start with Thanksgiving, regardless of what you have to eat, give thanks.  Give thanks first and foremost for Jesus Christ who died for you. Because of this, you are in good standing with God.  If you remember this most important love, everything else falls into place.  Take His love and spread it this Holiday season.  You can do that regardless of your financial or emotional status.  Don’t be nervous, be loving.  If you are tempted to get upset about what is wrong…stop. Refocus, think on what is right.  You are a beautiful child of God, regardless of the circumstances surrounding your life.

John 13:34  “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (discipline)

Fit Bit (discipline)
Dear Kimberly,
I was doing so good at not drinking and getting back on track with my life, then, once again I’ve fallen back into my old patterns.  I feel like such a loser.  I really don’t’ want you to know who I am because I don’t want you to be disappointed in me.  How do I get back to discipline?

Sincerely,

Lacking discipline

Dear Discipline,

First, you are a beautiful child of God!!!  You are beautiful by what Jesus did for you on the cross.  Accept His grace and believe you are loved!  Jesus died for you not because you are worthy, He died for you because He loves you just the way you are!!!  OF COURSE YOU FALL SHORT.  That is the humane condition.  Get back up again.  Start with small disciplines.  If alcohol is your issue, start by calling a professional, don’t worry about not drinking, concentrate on getting help and then try to do everything your counselor tells you to do.  Take manageable steps toward your goals. ”ROME WASN’T BUILT IN A DAY.” You will succeed at walking a better walk as long as you walk with Jesus and keep trying.  Don’t give up!!!  Get help and take one day at a time.  Concentrate on what you can do, and do it with the strength of our Lord!  This continual reliance on Him and putting one step in front of the other will help you achieve discipline.
Please feel free to contact me.  I have been in your shoes.  I’m not disappointed in you I’m thankful you reached out.

Philippians 4:13  “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

1 Corinthians 9:27  “But, I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( election emotions)

Fit Bit (election emotions)
Dear Kimberly,

I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly sad and anxious about our election results.  How did this happen?  The president won and he stands for nothing but destruction.
I fear for this nation.  How did this happen?  I know our country was praying.  I am so distraught.  How do I handle my emotions?

Sincerely,

Emotional wreck from election

Dear Election Emotions,

I understand your disappointment. I too have strong emotions attached to this election.  TO OVERCOME YOUR EMOTIONS remember God is still in control!!!!
His ways are greater then our ways.  Even though you may be disappointed in the results and perhaps even fearful, God is still in control.
Consider this, many challenges were introduced to our country and our President.  He became aware of some good ideas to help our country to become strong again.  We can pray that this election will help Him be a better President, and us be better citizens.  It does us no good to perseverate on what we cannot change.  The election is over, pray and trust God.  He is still in control.  When you are tempted to be angry, fearful or sad… pray.  Watch your tongue, do not speak evil will toward our leaders, no matter how emotionally upset you are.  Speak faith.
The opposite of fear is faith.   Walk in faith even if you think things should have been different.  Our ways are not Gods ways.  Many people were praying over this election.  We have to trust God is at work here.  PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS.

Do not be emotionally wrecked, be spiritually strong!  Trust God!!!

1 Peter 2:9  “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your care upon Him;  for He careth for you.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
