Summer Fun

Summer Fun, Faith and Fitness (week2)
FUN!!!   Yesterday, someone asked me, “What do you think of when you think of summer?”  I said, “FUN!”

I have found that not everything I have to do is a traditional FUN thing.  When I think of summer fun I think of water skiing, canoeing, biking and other outdoor sports(fitness stuff).  This summer I have found fun in different ways.  I had the opportunity to help a neighbor with their dock after the storm, putting things back together was fun!  I am currently helping a sick relative/friend.  Although fun is not a word I would use to describe it, I am having fun being with my friend and his wife. Yesterday, we went for an ice-cream sundae, which was summer fun.

FUN is an emotion, which comes from the joy inside my heart.  This summer I will not be doing as many of my traditional summer fun things. Yet, I will still be having fun.  I know that when I am able to be a vessel of God’s love, I feel joy in my heart.  His joy is fun for me.

Are you able to have joy even when life’s obstacles are not fun?  I think this ability is a sign of true fitness.

Psalm 144:15 “Happy is that people, that is in such a case; yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Todays CANOE trip is postponed until I can get more help for my friend.  Please include health , healing and spiritual assurance in your prayers.

Summer Fun Faith and Fitness(week two fitness)

Summer Fun, Faith and Fitness (3)
Fitness is FUN!!!  When we are fit to do the things we want to do it is FUN!!!

How many times have you not done something fun because, “ you just don’t feel up to it?”  Have you ever avoided swimming so others don’t see you in a swimsuit?  Have you ever just sat and watched others playing, because you did not feel like you were good enough to join in?

In order for us to be more fit we have to do more things!  We have to get over our excuses and JUST DO IT!  We are all beautiful children of God.  Let’s love us accordingly and go for it!  We don’t loose weight by wishing it off.  We don’t get more fit by dreaming it so.  In order to have the energy and motivation to do the things we want to do we have to push ourselves into the uncomfortable and be confidant in who we are in Christ.  So what if we are not size 10, let’s put on our swimsuit anyway, we are beautiful children of God.  So what if we strike out every time. Striking out doesn’t define us.  Persevering in the Lord does.

Fitness starts with moving more.  We will if it is fun.  This week have fun being fit!

2 Corinthians 8:12 “For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Summer fun Faith and Fitness(week one FUN)

Summer Fun, Faith and Fitness
It’s Friday!  Some of us have the weekends off to spend, as we want to.  Many of us don’t seem to have any time to do what we want to.  I like that saying,” it is not having what you want, it is wanting what you have.”  Regardless of how busy we are each moment we have a choice.  We can choose to enjoy our moment or we can choose another response.  The first step to having fun is realizing FUN is a state of mind.

Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinkith in his heart so is he; Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”

THIS WEEKEND LET’S TRUST OUR FAITH, keep our hearts on peace and think accordingly.  This FUN state of mind will help us get our work done happily, leaving us time to fit in a little something special.

What tips do you have for having fun?

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Summer Fun Faith and Fitness

Summer Fun, Faith and Fitness
Yesterday was the longest day of the year!  Happy summer!   Many of us feel it is summer as of Memorial Day.  What have you done so far this season to enjoy your summer?  Are you looking at the upcoming 4th of July thinking summer is half way over and you haven’t enjoyed it yet?  Don’t worry, summer has just begun! This summer let’s have fun, through faith and be fit doing so!

It is easy to let time pass without taking the time to enjoy ourselves.
John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

I have found, by putting my faith first, I receive the peace in my heart which enables me enjoy my life. This peace helps me intentionally stop and take the time to have a pleasant conversation, a walk in the park or a smore around the campfire.  We are called to love God, love ourselves and love others.  When we do this it frees us up to have Fun!  How are you going to have fun today?  Will you start with your heart?

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Canoe trip is next Wednesday.  June 29th.  Bring the kids.  Please email me or call if you can come.  EVERYONE IS WELCOME!  Starts at noon we will be done by four.

Fit Bit (stay with it)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (exercise)
Question:  I have tried to get started exercising a hundred different times.  I always fall away from it.  How can I stay committed?

ANNswer:  You can stay committed by deciding that your physical health is important to you.  The average American only gets between 3500 and 5100 steps in per day.  We have to move on purpose!! If you find yourself detesting structured exercise programs then do activities that you consider fun daily.  Do you like to golf, play tennis, dance, rollerblade or walk?   We need to intentionally move at least an hour every day.  Everything you do counts.   If you only have ten minutes here and there, fit your moving in that way.  Lifestyle changes do not come by wishing them so.  They are instilled by continually committing to doing the right choice day in and day out even when we don’t feel like it.  Commit to moving daily and do it.  Don’t look back.  It is easy to revert to old habits when you are tempted to look back remember Jesus died that you may have a new life (John 10; 10).  Call on Him and His strength to help you treat your body as His temple.

James 1:8 “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

Fit Bit ( Stress eating)

Fit Bit with Kimberly
 (faith that works-stress eating)
Question:  I do good at staying away from sweets unless I get stressed and then something goes off in my head that says,” Go for it!  Eat, eat, and eat!”  How do I get over this?

ANNswer:  Trust is God and his love for you and do not internalize the stress.  We are all given trials in this life.  Most of us have something everyday that can through us off.  In order to avoid destructive lifestyle patterns like yelling, screaming, over eating and drinking we have to learn to handle stress immediately, by trusting God.

Today, I was reading the book of James in a study Bible.  The author said, “ The book of James is not about faith and works but FAITH THAT WORKS.”  Many times I have been overwhelmed with life stresses, I have learned to go to God first, before calling a friend, eating ice cream or being reactionary.  Sometimes, I forget to trust God first and the results are bad.  Try to pray first and eat only when you are hungry and are making good healthful choices.

James 1:2-3  “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fun vs. Fit

Fit Bit with Kimberly (fun vs. fit)
Comment:

We had a fabulous weekend.  We stayed at a great place, had inventive and delicious food and we took in several tours in the area.  We went to
Mineral Point, WI - saw Pendarvis, Shake Rag Alley, and some of the
artisans in the area.  We also went to Little Norway and walked through
that.  Fun weekend.  Too much good food.  I've been afraid to get on a
scale.

ANNswer:

Faith, Fun and Fitness,

You had fun!  Do not worry about the scale.  Keep up the walking this week.  Stay on track with your fruits, veggies and water.  Your weight is not as important as your fitness level, attitude and ability to enjoy your husband during a weekend away.  Get back on track, keep on keeping on and your weight will respond.  You are beautiful the way you are.  It is a Christ centered lifestyle you are after not a number on a scale!

Psalm 27:14 " Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, one the Lord."

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

SUMMER FUN!!!

Summer Faith, Fun and Fitness
June 21, 2011 we are kicking off Summer Faith, Fun and Fitness.  Too many times summer comes and goes and we do not do the things we wanted to.  We don’t loose the weight, we don’t spend more time with our families, and we don’t do the activities we looked forward to all winter.  This summer let’s have the summer we desired last winter!

FAITH     With faith as our cornerstone all things are manageable!
Philippians 4:13 “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

FUN         Jesus came that we may have and enjoy our life and have it in abundance!
John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.”

FITNESS  Our body is His temple, there are many fun ways to be fit in the summer!
1 Corinthians 6:19 “Or do you not know that your body is the temple?”

Each week we will focus on one of these three themes.  You will receive and email Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.  Please respond with your ideas on how you live your best life through Christ.

There will be one summer wellness activity a month on the last Wednesday of each month.

The first activity is canoeing Wednesday June 29th.

Please sign up by emailing Kimberly or calling.

Fit Bit (faith , fun and fitness)

Fit Bit with Kimberly
(Faith, fun and fitness)
Question; Summer is here and I am still over weight.  I don’t want people to see me in a swimsuit or shorts.  How can I lose weight quick?

ANNswer:  Love yourself the way you are at this moment! When we have weight to lose it is important to adjust our eating and exercise habits accordingly.  There is not a quick fix it is a life style change.

The most important first step is to Love God and love you.  You are not your physical body alone, but the beautiful soul God created.  Regardless of your weight enjoy your life the best you can and keep on keeping on!

I am starting the summer Faith, Fun and Fitness series.  It will be posted on my blog or you can get the emails.  Start with your heart, Faith.  Take car of your body, Fitness and enjoy your life, Fun.

John 13:15 “I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.”
