Fit Bit ( GOD make it for good)

Fit Bit  (God makes it for good)
My son Chan has a traumatic brain injury.  He is an otherwise healthy, athletic 19-year-old young man.  Before the accident he was just starting to mature.  Now he acts like an angry/ unreasonable 10 years old.  Many people have given me the advice,” Don’t put up with it!  Kick him out!”  My response is, “ He has a brain injury, and I will keep tying to help him, love him the best I can, through the grace of God.”

I hear of so many people giving up on their spouse, children friends and co-workers.  Wouldn’t it be nice if our advice to each other would be, “Pray, for the love of Christ to surround you and flow through you during this turmoil.  Trust God and His promises, He will work this out for good.”

Are you ready to give up on someone?  Aren’t you glad Jesus has not given up on you?

Genesis 50:19-20  “And Joseph said unto them, Fear not; for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”KJV

Be fit and be blessed,

Happy New Year!!!

Fit Bit (fresh start)

Fit Bit (Fresh Start!)
John 8:34 “ And Jesus answered them,  “ Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits a sin is a slave of sin.  35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.  36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

For many of us the festivities of Christmas are over. Some of us still have Christmas parties to attend.  Regardless of your situation today is a day to exhale, reevaluate and move on.  During this season, I over spent, over stressed and over ate.  I do not have to live in that guilt.  I have been set free.  We are all free!  Through Jesus Christ we are set FREE!!!

Most of us did something over the past few days; weeks or hours we wish we wouldn’t have.  Let’s start fresh!!!

Let go of the sin that so easily ensnares you and press on, forward in the Love of Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Fit Bit( Be strong this Christmas)

Fit Bit  “Be strong this Christmas!”
Psalm 18:32  “ It is God who arms me with strength and make my way perfect.”

“ The God who holds the Universe is the God who is holding you.”  David Egner

“This Christmas, I feel scarred”
“This Christmas, I can not stop eating the cookies.”
“ This Christmas I have to spend time with very annoying people.”   Etc…

We are all going through something.  We are not alone.  Jesus is with us each and every moment.  This Christmas and throughout the year He loves us.  Fear not, our strength comes from the Lord. What ever we are going through…He knows, He is with us giving us strength moment by moment.

Remember, faith not fears…love not wars.

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Difficult issues at Christmas)

Fit Bit: Difficult issues this Christmas
It has come to my attention, many of us are dealing with difficult issues this Christmas.   The holiday season brings joy, yet we can also feel the pain.

I too have painful, hurtful thought patterns.  I combat these thoughts by calling on the name of Jesus!  I call on Jesus as soon as the destructive, hopeless thought occurs.  This helps me.  When I forget to call on Him.  My hopelessness sets in.

This Christmas, replace the pain with His promise.  Christ is born, we are forgiven, and we have a new life moment by moment. (Five minutes ago is just as over as 5 years ago.) Today, don’t let sorrow enter in.  Call on the name of Jesus and trust that He loves you and will take care of all you need.

Philippians 3:13  “ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
Philippians 4:19 “ But my God, shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Happiest Holiday?

Fit Bit  (Happiest Holiday ever?)
Question:   This Christmas I am broke, I am busy and I don’t want to do the Christmas cookies, cards etc.…  I am over stressed.  How do I find the Christmas spirit?

ANNswer; Start with thanksgiving.  Many of us do not have what we want.  We have lost someone we love.  We have limited finances.  We are struggling with depression…you name it our population is largely, unhealthy.  We can look at what we do not have and continue in our misery or we can be thankful for what we do have and be happy.

The secret of happiness;  Is not having what you want it is wanting what you have.
We each have the ability to control what we think.  If we want;

The Happiest Holiday ever!

We simply need to decide to, enjoy the moments God provides for us, and do it!!!

Proverbs 23:7  “ As a man thinkith is his heart so shall he be.”

In all things be thankful.

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

PS   I am trying to take this advice myself.  After my sons brain injury he has been very difficult to deal with.   It has been all consuming and it doesn’t feel like Christmas is this close.  When I get back to God and spend time in thanksgiving.  It doesn’t matter to me if I have the cookies, cards or shopping done.  It simply matters to me that Jesus is my savior and He will work all things out for good. (Romans 8:28)

Fit Bit ( Holiday Spirit)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (Holiday Spirit)
This Holy season I am especially thankful.  Each day, each moment I am in awe of how fortunate we are to still have Chan with us here in this world.  With Chan’s brain injury he needs a special environment to optimize his healing.  He needs a quiet, non-threatening, secure loving and encouraging home.  Isn’t that what we all need?  Why should a doctor have to explain this type of environment?
  It’s common sense.
Common sense is not always common practice.
This Christmas, we have not bought presents, made cookies, or sent out cards.  We are trying to make our home a loving Christian environment.  I would like to tell you it is going great.  Yet, we are still fallen people, messed up in different ways.  My prayer for us all, this Holy season, is we can live in thanksgiving allowing the peace of Jesus Christ to flow through us.  Truly, the only way, I know to have a healthful environment is to put Jesus first.

Mathew 1:21  “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He gives us His helper, the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit that provides the Holiday Spirit!

May His Holiday Spirit be evident in each of our homes, this Christmas season
and thereafter.

Merry Christmas!

Fit Bit ( Gaurdian Angel)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (Guardian Angel)
Many of you may know my Son was involved in a horrible car accident November 22, 2011.  He rolled his car six times, starting t a speed estimated at 100mph.  When his vehicle came to a stop he was ejected approximately 20 feet.   When the Sherriff came upon him, he was not breathing.  She readjusted his airway and he took a breath.  (I am very thankful for this officer.  I am very thankful she remembered her first aid skills in the middle of this horror.)   I have been a firefighter and EMT for the past 20 years.  I have seen many people loose their lives in far less significant events.  I believe it is a true miracle that my son Channing is alive today.  I believe it is a true miracle that he is expected to make a full recovery.

How is this possible?  With God, all things are possible.
Psalm 91: 11 “ For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee is all thy ways.”

My son was in a coma for three days.  When he awoke
Chan said, “Mom, someone was in the car with me!”
I said, “No, son your were alone.”
He insisted, “ Mom, someone was in the car with me!”
 I asked,  “Was it Jesus?”
Chan replied,  “No Mom, Jesus doesn’t look like that.”
Mom; “What did he look like son? “
Chan: “ He was a boy, with blonde hair, blonde curly hair.”  It was Brandon.
Mom; “No son, Brandon wasn’t with you.”
Chan;  “ It was Colin.’
Mom;  “No son, Colin was at home that night.”
Chan;  “ Well I don’t know Mom, but someone was in the car with me, I want to talk to him, I bet he has one heck of a story to tell.”

Chan does not remember his accident.  He incurred a serious brain injury. Yet, he is adamant, their was someone in the car with him that night!!

Thank you God for sending your Guardian Angel!

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly
