Fit Bit (New Beginnings')

Fit Bit (New Beginnings’)
Happy New Year!! TomorrowJ

“This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Leave the past in the past!  2017 is a great time for new beginnings’.  Why wait tell tomorrow, start today!
What ever it is that you need to do, “JUST DO IT!”

I quit drinking 12 years ago, Dec 27, 2004.  Tonight I will be the Speaker at the Sparta AA group at 7 pm at the Masonic Temple.  Following the speaking is Pot Luck.  Please come if you can and want to.  It is an open meeting.

One reason, I keep deciding to choose Jesus verses the booze is, I now can leave the past in the past better then I used to.  My mistakes used to paralyze me, so I would be “stuck”.  Through the powerful gift of Jesus, I can let go and let God do His amazing work in me.  He gives me the strength to keep trying.  My life is far from perfect and I continue to screw up, but I have learned to walk in forgiveness with determination to press forward.

Be encouraged to leave your destructive behaviors in the past and move forward with the help of Jesus.

Be fit, be blessed and Happy New Year!!

Fit Bit ( It's OK Single Woman)

Fit Bit (It’s OK Single Woman)
True health and wellness comes from the Lord.  To be truly well, we have to be complete and healthy in Jesus Christ alone.

Mathew 6:33  “ Seek ye first and kingdom of God and His righteousness and all theses things will be added unto you.”

Psalm 37:4  “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “ For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope ad a future.”

These Bible verses are so beautiful but sometimes I forget God’s promises:

Complete in Jesus means not lacking.  I am a single woman, and I have been most of my life.  I have had a couple short marriages that were not Christ centered and thus they ended in divorce.  When I choose both of these men, I was looking for someone to “fill the void”.  Truly, I thought I loved them, but deep in my heart I knew I was latching on and not waiting for God’s plan.

In the beginning of these relationships it was nice to have someone pay attention to me and care.   I easily mistook that for love.  Feeling cared for, it was easy to give myself away, and then I felt I needed to marry to justify my infidelity.   Then in both marriages I woke up and was lonelier then I had been when I was single.

Today, I need to remember this.  I often sit in my kitchen reading His word and wish for a Husband to come join me for my Bible study and life.  I truly do long for someone to be my life partner.  I could use a bit of help making big life decisions.  I would like someone to be my protector.  I would really like someone to cherish me, like Christ cherishes the church.  This is a desire of my heart.  Yet it seems a bit silly since I have been so careless with two marriages already.  To fight this longing, I try to remember that Jesus is my husband.  I am His.  His Holy Spirit is here to comfort me.   He can help me in big life decisions.  I just need to “Be still and know that He is God.”

I share this today, because I know I am not alone in this desire to have a spouse.  There are many dating website making millions of dollars because so many of us are desperate for love.  Encourage someone you know that may be feeling this way to remember, God is our Loving Father, Jesus is with us always and the Holy Spirit is our comforter.

Our Father loves each and every one of us so much, that He gave His only begotten Son to die for us. (John 3:16)  His arm is not to short.  He will give us the desires of our hearts, in His perfect timing.  Today be encouraged that God does hear your prayers and is answering them.  Be patient.
Trust Him on your path.

It’s OK to be single.  Paul said, “If you can control your lusts, it is better to be single”

Desperately lonely is an unhealthy way to start a love relationship with a humane.  It is the perfect way to start a relationship with Jesus!!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( Move On)

Fit Bit (Move On)
Have you ever done something you wish you wouldn’t have done?

Of course you have.

This is it, we can’t redo yesterday.  5 minutes ago is just as over as 5 years ago.  The problem is 5 minutes ago is pretty fresh on our minds.  Yet, even if it just happened it is still in the past.  I think it is important to come to grips with our responsibility in the things we have done, yet coming to grips should not paralyze us but simply turn our ways to a better path.

Christmas is a great reminder that we are not bound by our failures but are defined by promised joy.   Baby Jesus, He is the reason we can leave yesterday behind and move forward in the direction of our calling.  This Christmas if you find yourself tempted to beat your self up, STOP IT!!  Accept the forgiveness Jesus was born to give you.  Push forward in the direction of the dreams He has laid upon your heart.

Philippians 4:13 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Be fit, be blessed and Merry Christmas!!!

Fit Bit (Enjoy the wonderful food)

Fit Bit (Enjoying the wonderful food)
It is the season for wonderful food!   I love Christmas cookies, fudge, popcorn balls and homemade ice cream.  We have traditional dinners too, which are rich and loaded with delicious calories.  How do you enjoy all these wonderful treats without going over board?  The answer I use is; “SLOW IT DOWN”.   Most of us are not “staving”; therefore we can take the time to enjoy each savory morsel.  J

This is the season to try many wonderful things.  It’s not a piece of cake or a couple cookies that make us gluttons it’s the over indulgence that wrecks the enjoyment of it all.  When I savor the flavor, chew my food thoroughly, and simply “slow down”.  I appreciate the wonderful food without the gluttony aspect of it all.  I hope this little Fit Bit helps you too, enjoy the festive food this beautiful Christmas season.

Ecclesiastes 3:1  “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven”
Ecclesiastes 3:13  “And also that everyman should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labor, it is the gift of God.”

Mathew 6:33  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Be fit, be blessed and Merry Christmas!!

Fit Bit (Faithful)

Fit Bit (Faithful)
Hebrews 12:11 “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:  nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby…14Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”

James 1:27  “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

WOW these two passages are really hitting me this Advent morning.  I am preparing for Christmas by decorating my home, visiting with friends and family and hopefully baking, shopping and giving.  Giving, this is the thing that is upon my heart the most today.  Financially this year is a bit tight for me. On the other hand, I have more time then I usually have.  Hopefully I can give of my time and be Faithful.  Personally, I have issues that are consuming my thoughts and I don’t “feel” like I can get much done.  Hebrews 12:11 reminds me that the sufferings of this present time is nothing compared to the joy that awaits me.  James 1:27 reminds me that true happiness and joy is fulfilled when I love others as Christ loves me.  Therefore today and hopefully each day I will stop thinking of what is difficult and concentrate on being His hands and feet.  I may not have the finances to bless others the way I want to, but I do have the ability to intentionally take the time to be nice to someone, even a stranger.  I hope this short insight helps you be encouraged to be faithful this Christmas with what you have.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

PS “One thing that we do have is the knowledge of Jesus, how cool Christmas is that we can most easily share His this GOOD NEWS!!”
