Fit Bit (Christmas Simple Math)

Fit Bit (The Christmas simple math)
Merry Christmas!   Tis that wonderful time a year once again.  Families and friends are gatherings, church attendance is growing and generosity is flowing.  What an amazing time of year!  There is something about Christmas that hits us all.  Even people who are not Christian find themselves celebrating this Holy Day, Many people are drawn into the Christmas shopping and celebrating.  How fun it is to feast and give.  This season, I am trying to remember the “Simple Math” as I do the same.  My wallet only has so much money in it.  If I am going to give a bunch of presents away, I need to cut back somewhere else to stay financially healthy.  If I want to partake in the delicious food offered to me, I will need to move more and cut out my normal splurges.   It is really just simple math, keeping things in check that can help
keep us fit for Christmas.

Remember, True fitness starts in the heart.  Let Jesus be the Lord of your heart and everything else will balance out.

Mathew 6:33 “ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

(This video is one that brings me to tears, I like to watch it at least once this time of year.)  If you don’t share this Fit Bit, please share this video.

Merry Christmas!

Be fit and be blessed,

Fit Bit (Thankful in the trial)

Fit Bit (Thankful in the trial)
My brother in law found a saying for me,” God doesn’t give us what we can handle, He helps us handle what we have been given.”  I love this.

The God I know and love, is a loving kind Father.   “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”  (John 3:16)  Thank God.  Yet, even though I believe on Jesus for my eternal life sometimes in this here and now, I get a bit overwhelmed.  Yesterday, I balanced my new budget and realized I will have to work more in order to “make it”.  Christmas is coming and that’ typically a time I spend extra on food and gifts.  Yet, my budget says cut back.  It is tempting to feel overwhelmed and want to through in the towel.   Yet, I have not been given a Spirit of fear and defeat, I have been given the Spirit of Life.  Today I am trusting in God to give me the discernment on my spending and earning.  I will start by being thankful for what I have.  I will start by being content.  After all, contentment in life is fundamental in heath and wellness.  I can be content, because I can trust that our loving God is the great provider.

Be thankful, fit and blessed this Holiday Season,

Habakkuk 3:17-18  “ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stall; 18 Yet, I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds feet and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.

Fit Bit ( Be well now B4 the Holy Days)

Fit Bit (Be well NOW through the Holy days!!)

Nov 17, this is about the time many of us decide we are busy, it’s cold outside, the holidays are coming and we’ll start a fitness regime after the first of the year.

Most have us go through this every year and when Jan 1st rolls around we may get going for a week or two and life gets in the way once again.  Being fit and well in the Winter months in Wisconsin is challenging.  Let’s face it being fit and well anywhere any time is challenging.  This time of year our daylight hours are short.  When it is dark and cold outside I want to curl up on the couch and wait for it to be warm and bright.  Yet, what my feelings want and what is good for me, and my walk with the Lord are often different..  I have to intentionally plan my healthful life style everyday.  To stay successful I have to keep it simple.  My wellness program in its simplicity is doing something Holy, Healthy and Happy everyday.

1.     Holy, I remember God loves me, Jesus died for me, I am a valuable asset to Him and I am never alone Jesus is with me always (Mathew 28:20).  I do this by reading the Bible daily, listening to Christian radio and keeping like-minded friends in my inner circle.
2.     Healthy, I stay on my healthy routine by letting the Holy Spirit direct my life.  I know to eat healthful and move more.  Yet healthy is way deeper then diet and exercise alone.  I try to be a good steward of my life. (1Timothy 4:8 “Exercise profits the body a little, Godliness profits in all things.”)
3.     Happy, Jesus said,” One new command I give to you, that you should love others as I have loved you.”(John 13:34)  Happiness is Holiness; Happiness is getting outside of myself and intentionally being kind to someone else.

James 1; 22  “Do not merely listen to the word, and deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.”
In order to” DO”, we need to plan.  Plan a Holy, Healthy, and Happy activity everyday and reap the rewards this Holy season.  If you only get to Holy, you are in taking a big step in the right direction!!

Be fit and be blessed,

(I love this song….I need to remember Jesus makes me perfect in Gods eyes.)

Fit Bit ( Responsibility)

Fit Bit (Responsibility)
Lord, help me be a good steward of the many gifts you have given me.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to work with a woman suffering Depression.  I am her Christian Life Coach.  My job is to help her remember who she is in Christ and motivate her to act like it.  Sounds simple right?

There is an old saying, “Common sense isn’t always common practice.”

We are all given gifts from our Lord; it is our responsibility to use these gifts for His glory.  When we are doing this we “feel” full of His life.  When we squash our talents and believe the lies of Satan (such as, “Your not good enough.  You can’t do that anyway.  Why try again?)  We lose our purpose and feel hopeless.  Good thing it’s not our feelings that determine who we are!  It is the blood of Jesus Christ that has determined our destiny!!  I have heard it said, “feeling are fickle, you go to bed feeling one way and wake up feeling an other, eat chocolate and feel this, eat veggies and feel that.   It is our responsibility to take charge of our lives regardless of our feelings.  Through the Grace of God, we are conquerors in Jesus.  So, next time you “feel”, you just can’t possibly resist the second helping, lack the desire to move or be motivated to use your God given talents.  Remember, God made you on purpose for His purpose, your life is not your own, you have been bought with a price.  Walk in your purpose, you will “feel “ better and find the motivation to “keep on keeping on”, through the energizing gift of His Holy Spirit!!

Be fit and be blessed,

1 Corinthians 6:19   Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;”

1 Corinthians 12: 27  “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. “

Fit Bit ( run like a deer)

Fit Bit (Run like a Deer)
Habakkuk 3:19  “ The sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer.”

To run like a deer, to fly on the wings of an eagle, implies ease to me.  Jesus said,  “My yolk is easy, my burden is light.”.  If this is so, and I am a Christian, why do things feel so difficult?  Why is it hard to get up and walk let alone run like a deer?

For me, when I feel the difficulty of everyday get up and go, it is often because I am living in wishy/washy.   I am letting myself get tossed back and forth with indecision verses asking God for guidance and then simply running the race with endurance in the path He sets before me.

Today, we are moving out of our Families Lake home.  As I sit here I want to “save it”.  Yet, my decision after prayer, consulting with my children, and following the peace is to be content with what we have.

Sometimes, life is hard.  Good thing His yolk is easy and He frees us up, so we can run like a deer.

Be fit, be blessed and be inspired to let go of what ever is burdening you so you can be free to run, with endurance in a Godly direction.
