proverbs 31 study day36

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 36
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31:20-21 “She strectcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.”

Today’s topic is tithe.  We need to give to God our first fruits.  What does that mean?  Do we give Him the first 10% of our pay?  In Donnas book she states,” 90%plus God is better then 100% without Him.”  Most of us agree a 10% tithe is the amount we need to give to God.  I posed this question to a Pastor friend of mine.  He said, “10% was not realistic for some people.  Some can only give $5-20 a week.  Which is less then 10% but they do it consistently, with a happy heart.  The amount is between each individual and God.”

I personally believe we are to give Him the first of our time too.  When I spend my first moments with God the rest of my day is better.  I can more easily be a cheerful giver to others when I start my day off giving my time to God.

2 Corinthians 9:7”Everyman according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God loveth a cheerful giver.”

Fit Bit (Crabby dieter)

Fit Bit With Kimberly  (Nutrition/crabby/food combinations)
Question:  I am trying to loose weight.  I am eating mainly fruit and vegetables; my problem is I get hungry and crabby.  The good news is I am loosing weight.   How do I avoid the crabbiness?

ANNswer; Get your heart right.  Your crabbiness will flee.  Hunger is a natural part of our day.  We all get sleepy, hungry, thirsty etc.…  We do not have to panic if we are hungry, just like we don’t have to panic if we get sleepy.   Most of us will not starve if we let ourselves get a bit hungry.  If you are hungry and you are trying to loose weight that maybe a good sign.  Think to yourself; yeah! I am hungry. I am burning fat!! DON’T BE CRABBY BE HAPPY!

Food combining helps with hunger.  Our bodies can digest a fruit or vegetable in about an hour. Then we feel hungry again.
When we combine the fruit of vegetable with a protein or fat it can take our body up to 4-5 hours to digest the protein or fat.  Therefore we stay satisfied longer.

James 4:7  “Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Proverbs 31 study day34

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 34
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31  10-11“Who can find a virtuous woman?  For her price is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband doth safetly trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil………………….18-19 She precieveth her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”

Saturdays are our catch up days.  Personally I cannot keep up with the list in Donna’s book.  I use this simple check off list.
1.    Am I seeking first the kingdom of God each day? (Mathew 6:33)
2.    Am I taking treating my body as His temple not my trashcan? (1 Corinthians 6:19)
3.    Am I managing my time, energy and relationships in a way that honors God?  (Psalm 144:15)

Holy, Healthy and Happy is the Faith Centered Fitness mantra.  It is my experience, when I intentionally include God in my waking moments everything else falls into place, even my sleep.

Proverbs 16:3  “ Commit thy works unto the Lord and thy thoughts will be established.”

proverbs 31 study day33

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 33
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31: 18-19  “ She precieveth her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”

BE A SOLUTION ORIENTED WORKER!

It is not the work we do that exhausts us it is the work we leave undone that exhausts us.  What a profound statement!  Sometimes, when my house is a mess I turn around in circles not knowing where to start. I get a bit done and then I am ready to throw in the towel because it can be…too much.  When I work diligently, I feel energized, capable and accomplished. Just starting the job makes the task smaller.   Checks lists are a great way to stay motivated.
Mainly, if I procrastinate my workload, I feel overwhelmed by it.  Actively chipping away at things empowers me and helps me b solution orientated especially when I do my work unto the Lord.   It is difficult for God to work through us if we are not willing to work.

Proverbs 16:3  “ Commit thy works unto the Lord and thy thoughts will be established.”

proverbs 31 study day 32

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 32
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31: 18-19  “ She precieveth her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”

Today we continue on with the theme of de-clutter.  The de-clutter attitude is so good for helping us feel open and free.  Try it if you haven’t yet.  Just take one closest or one drawer and give it a shot.  First, give away what you don’t need or haven’t used for two years and second if it is something you want to hold on to store it away, labeled so you can find it, and then bring it out on special occasions.  I started this project yesterday and accompanied it with a deep cleaning.   WOW do I feel better!   I felt a cleansing, I feel more appreciative of my home. How are you ladies doing?? Have you de-cluttered?  Do you feel cleansed?

Luke 5:13  “ Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.”  Immediately the leprosy left him.

Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31: 18-19  “ She precieveth her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”

One thing that can bog us down in accomplishing work for the Lord is our materialistic attitudes.  In today’s world it is easy to be focused on what we have and want.  Today let’s focus on what we can give.  When we start each day with a service attitude we take the focus off us and unto Gods’ work.  Most us of have far more then we need in our homes.  We have clothes we haven’t worn, pots and pans that are accumulating dust and other things we are holding unto, just in case.  Practice a service attitude by giving those things away.  This will also help DE clutter our homes.  Which will in turn open our minds and hearts more toward God.

Luke 3:11 He answered and said to them, “He who has two tunics, let him give to him who has none; and he who has food, “ let him do likewise.”  NKJ

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 30
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31: 18-19  “ She precieveth her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”

Many things we focus our attention on are frivolous.  Most of our work is done in a couple areas of our lives.  In Donna Partrows’ book, “ Becoming the woman God wants me to be Proverbs 31”, she states that 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people and she expands that to include almost all aspects of our lives.  To keep it simple, think about how you spend your time.  Focus on the things you do that are the most productive.  Do those things well and do them unto the Lord.  For us to grow we need to try new things and get better at things we are not good at.  Keep trying new things so you can expand who you are.  First, accomplish tasks that will produce harvest in your life and then do the extra stuff.

Proverbs 4:26  “ Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.”

proverbs 31 study day 29

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 29
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31: 18-19  “ She precieveth her merchandise is good; her candle goeth not out by night.  She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”

As we focus on these verses this week I think it is important to remember verse 18. “ She preceveth that her merchandise is good’.  Today let’s decide to do the best we can with what we have.  One thing we each have today is 24 hours.  If we make a plan for the day to do the work we are called to do we will more likely accomplish our goals.  As a Proverbs 31 woman, we want to be well rounded.  Chose to set goals in a variety of areas in you life.
1.    Body
2.    Mind
3.    Soul
4.    Relationship
5.    Home
6.    Work
7.    Finances
First let’s concentrate on what is good in these areas and then what we can do, to be better in each area.  Let’s have a plan each day so we can make the most of what we have!!!
Proverbs 4:26  “ Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.”

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 26
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31:16-17:
She considereth a field, and buyeth it:  with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.  She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Hip Hip Hooray!!!  Today we are off the fast!!!  How did you do?
Eating healthy is a very important part of taking care of us.  If we do not take care of ourselves we cannot be all we can be!  I personally do not promote eating only vegetables, I do promote drinking only water.  Today, you get to decide, which foods you are going to put back into your diet.  Try to use either of my nutrition challenges as your guide.  What I liked about the Daniel challenge; it inspired us to have discipline in our consumption.  Let’s keep on in the atmosphere of Godly discipline.

In order to have discipline in our stress eating we need to be able to rest in the Lord regardless of the problems each day brings.  Try a cleansing, detoxifying bath on a regular basis to help you unwind.  Most importantly remember to trust God regardless of your circumstances.

Psalm 118:24  “ This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

In order for us to get and stay strong we must challenge our muscles.  Walking is great.  In addition to walking try to use your muscles in short powerful bursts, such as jumping, sprinting, weight lifting or isometric contractions.  We need this type of strength training to be strong.  Rebounding and whole body vibration are fun ways to get this effect.  Do this powerful burst training two to three times a week.

1 Timothy 4:8  “ For bodily exercise profiteth a little; but Godliness profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is and that which is to come.”

Proverbs 31:16-17:

Food Hangovers!!!!  Do you believe you can get a food hangover?  Most of us believe we can get an alcohol hangover, but the idea of a food hangover is foreign for most of us.  Believe it, it is true.

If we want to be strong, we need to be well nourished.  When we eat to close to bedtime and consume high fat, high sugar, processed foods we will certainly feel the hangover.

After dinner eating is one of the most common problems my clients report.  Many people say they do well all day but then have a feeding frenzy in the evening.  I was listening to Joyce Meyer this morning, she said, “If someone had a gun to your head, you could stop.”  We all have the ability to discipline ourselves in this area.  We need the motivation and commitment.    Some of my clients have curbed their late night eating with fruit or water.  How do you curb yours?

1 Corinthians 9:27  “ But I keep under my body, bring it under subjection; lest stat by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31:16-17:

Purifyung ourselves through water!

When I think of purifying myself with water I think of Baptism.

Mathew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance; but He that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear; He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.”

In order for us to maintain our strength and ability to think clearly we need to stay hydrated!!  Many people who over eat are actually thirsty and not hungry.  We each need to drink about 64 ounces of water a day.  (A gulp is about an ounce)  Some people cannot drink this much water for medical reasons.  I try to drink three 20 oz. bottles of water a day.  Another simple way to get in your water is to gulp 10-20 gulps of water at a time.  I schedule my water consumption like I do my food, because it is easy to avoid.  Water is the beverage to concentrate on, not soda, coffee or tea.  Lemon or cranberry water are good ways to spice up your water.

Be fit and be blessed,

Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31:16-17:
She considereth a field, and buyeth it:  with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.  She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

This week we are starting to focus on strengthening our bodies.  Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:19).  God is able to use us if we can be used.  When we ignore our physical conditioning we become weak in body, this can translate to weak in mind and spirit.  Today…decide to be strong!!!  Walking is a great way to get moving and start to improve your physical condition. Not everyone can walk.  Fitness moving can be done on a chair too.  Our bodies need to move on purpose, at least and hour a day.  To get started, you may be able to only go one minute.  Do what you can and increase by 10% week.  Mainly…. Move it more on purpose!!!

1 Corinthians 9:27:  “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection; lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be castaway.”

proverbs 31 study day 20

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 20
Proverbs 10-15
“Who can find a virtuous woman?  For her price is far above rubies.  The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so he shall have no need of spoil.  She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.  She seeketh wool, and flax, and woreth willingly with her hands.  She is like the merchants ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.”

How cool is this!!  I am personally so excited about being a better woman!!  A woman, whose life is mostly pleasing to God, is whom I want to be.
1.    Holy, each day spend time with God.
2.    Healthy, each day treat my body like His temple this week nutrition being the priority.
3.    Happy, each day planning ahead, working diligently with integrity and happily because everything I do I do it unto the Lord.

This is the Faith Centered Fitness quick checklist.

Psalm 144:15  “Happy is that people, that is in such case; yea happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.”

Proverbs 31 study day 16

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 16):
Scripture to memorize this week:

Proverbs 31: 14-15 “ She is like the merchants’’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.”

HOPEFULLY YOU TOOK THE TIME TO PURGE YOUR PANTRY.
It is much easier to stay with a healthful diet when you do not allow temptation to be all around.  Today, Donna suggests we try the Daniel diet; eat vegetables and drink water for the nest ten days.  If you start that today you will be done when we have our mini retreat.  At the mini retreat we can all celebrate together.  I believe there is a tremendous amount of benefit in fasting for the Lord.  If you take this challenge do it as a fast to the Lord.  As a personal trainer I never have people eat only one food group.  It is not good basic nutrition.  For a ten-day fast, we can probably get away with it.  Do not do this diet if you have metabolic issues such as diabetes.  For an alternative to this Daniel fast Try my nutritional/behavior charts or the South Beach diet.  I suggest that for the next ten days we all feed our bodies as His temple!  Do this unto the Lord.

Daniel 1:15 “And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the kings meat.”

PROVERBS Study day 15

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 15):
Scripture to memorize this week:

Proverbs 31: 14-15 “ She is like the merchants’’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.  She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.”

This week we are going to concentrate on providing our families and ourselves a healthful diet.  The first step is to get rid of the stuff in your house that s not healthful.
1.    Purge the pantry /freezer/fridge of things that are not healthful.
2.    Healthful foods are things that are as natural as possible. (Try to eat things that have seven ingredients or less in them and you can recognize the ingredients.)
3.    Get rid of food that have high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated fats.
It is easier to stay on track with our diets when we eliminate the temptation.  Be strong and get rid of the junk!
Think of Daniel:

Daniel 1:15 “And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the kings meat.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Fit Bit ( who are you?)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (Who are you?)
Question:  My mother was a beautiful fashion businessperson. Money, prestige and parties were her life. Know the alcohol has taken its toll.  She is not even a glimpse of who she used to be.  She feels she would rather be dead then have to live in poverty.  How do I help her?

ANNswer:  You can pray for her.  You can try to do an intervention with professionals.  You can tell her about the great exchange; God’s love for her sins. (The beautiful gift of Jesus)  You can love her just as she is.  Try to help her and honor her.  God will work it out.  Let her know who she is, is not what she has, and does or what size she wears, but whom she is in Christ.

John 13:34:  “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”

Proverbs Study day 12

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 12)
Verse to memorize this week:
Proverbs 31 12-13:  She brings him good not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

The second part of this verse tells us to work with eager hands.  I often have to pray for the desire to work with eager hands, especially if the job is one I am not looking forward to.  Today I have a very dirty, messy job ahead of me.   In order to get through it, I have decided to take a few breaks with a couple walks around the block.   I am praying for a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!  God does deliver this.  As soon as the spirit of give up and “ I can’t do this” starts to creep in, I will call on God.  He can supply all my needs and He can adjust my attitude to gratitude!!

Today, work diligently with a happy, grateful heart.

Philippians 4:19  “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Proverbs 31 study day 11

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 11)
Verse to memorize this week:
Proverbs 31 12-13:  She brings him good not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

If we want to do good not harm, and work diligently with a good attitude we must get enough sleep.  When a person is sleep deprived, they respond as if they were intoxicated.  When our babies, children and husbands are sleep deprived it is easy for us to recognize they need sleep.  As a woman, we tend to expect ourselves to be wonder woman and cut our sleep, when we are busy.  Value your sleep and have it be a staple in your life!  We need sleep.  We think well, we have a happier attitude and we feel better physically if we get enough sleep.   Here are a few tips:

1.    Have a set bed time
2.    Have a regular bedtime routine.
3.    Have your sleep environment quit, dark and cool.
4.    Keep anxiety and over thinking out of your bedroom.
*If you feel worry or stress let it go, give your concerns to Jesus.  Meditate on His name.  Trust God, no matter what is on your plate.

Palms 3:3-4  “I cried unto the Lord, with my voice, and He heard me out of His holy hill.  Selah.   5.  I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.”

Today set up a good bedtime routine and diligently stick with it!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

PROVERB 31 DAY 10

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 10)
Verse to memorize this week:
Proverbs 31 12-13:  She brings him good not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

In order to have a heart inside of us that brings good not harm and to be able to work diligently without complaining we need to be grounded and rooted in Jesus Christ.  To be grounded and rooted we need to spend time reading the Bible and praying.  Today Donna has us focus on prayer.  She suggests that we pray like we tithe, 10% of the time.  That may seem like a tall order, it is possible.  I pray a lot.  I know that God is

Omnipresent (In all things, always hears me)
Omnipotent (All powerful, able to help me in all things)
Omniscience (All knowledgeable, will work all things out for my good)

When I pray and believe that God hears me and will take care of things I become able to relax, and be the woman God created me to be.  I can honestly want to bring good to others and be a diligent worker.

James 5:15  “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  16.   Confess your faults one to another and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Proverbs 31 study day 9

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 9)
Verse to memorize this week:
Proverbs 31 12-13:  She brings him good not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

Today, Donna has us remember to stay planted in the word of God.

When we start our day in His word, it gives us the strength to walk the walk. If we want to be a good example of a Proverbs 31 woman we have to have the Love of God in our hearts.  That comes from accepting Jesus as our savior and letting the Holy Spirit reign inside of us.  Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. What we are like in the physical realm is how others see us.  What difference does it make, to others, that we are Christians?  Are we helping make this world a better place?  Or are we calling ourselves Christians and still walking in gossiping and complaining?

Psalm 1:1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the un godly, not standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Today, make a conscious effort to be a Proverbs 31 woman inside and out.  Let us all know what you did today in the physical realm to show the love of God.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Proverbs 31 day 8

Proverbs 31 study Kimberly’s take (day 8)
Verse to memorize this week:
Proverbs 31 12-13:  She brings him good not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.

Today in Donna’s book she focuses on making Conscious decisions on how we spend our time, finances and attention.  In my program Faith Centered Fitness I ask you to try to follow Him in all areas of your life. It is all too easy for us to feel Holy after communion Sunday service and be back to fighting with our husbands on Sunday afternoon.  Donna came up with nine different areas to evaluate.  Take a good look at your life, are you walking the walk?

Today, remember Mathew 6:33
“ But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added unto you.”

I try to keep things simple, live holy, healthy and happy.  Love God, Love yourself and Love others and act accordingly.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
