Fit Bit ( GOD make it for good)

Fit Bit  (God makes it for good)
My son Chan has a traumatic brain injury.  He is an otherwise healthy, athletic 19-year-old young man.  Before the accident he was just starting to mature.  Now he acts like an angry/ unreasonable 10 years old.  Many people have given me the advice,” Don’t put up with it!  Kick him out!”  My response is, “ He has a brain injury, and I will keep tying to help him, love him the best I can, through the grace of God.”

I hear of so many people giving up on their spouse, children friends and co-workers.  Wouldn’t it be nice if our advice to each other would be, “Pray, for the love of Christ to surround you and flow through you during this turmoil.  Trust God and His promises, He will work this out for good.”

Are you ready to give up on someone?  Aren’t you glad Jesus has not given up on you?

Genesis 50:19-20  “And Joseph said unto them, Fear not; for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”KJV

Be fit and be blessed,

Happy New Year!!!

Fit Bit (fresh start)

Fit Bit (Fresh Start!)
John 8:34 “ And Jesus answered them,  “ Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits a sin is a slave of sin.  35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.  36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”

For many of us the festivities of Christmas are over. Some of us still have Christmas parties to attend.  Regardless of your situation today is a day to exhale, reevaluate and move on.  During this season, I over spent, over stressed and over ate.  I do not have to live in that guilt.  I have been set free.  We are all free!  Through Jesus Christ we are set FREE!!!

Most of us did something over the past few days; weeks or hours we wish we wouldn’t have.  Let’s start fresh!!!

Let go of the sin that so easily ensnares you and press on, forward in the Love of Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Fit Bit( Be strong this Christmas)

Fit Bit  “Be strong this Christmas!”
Psalm 18:32  “ It is God who arms me with strength and make my way perfect.”

“ The God who holds the Universe is the God who is holding you.”  David Egner

“This Christmas, I feel scarred”
“This Christmas, I can not stop eating the cookies.”
“ This Christmas I have to spend time with very annoying people.”   Etc…

We are all going through something.  We are not alone.  Jesus is with us each and every moment.  This Christmas and throughout the year He loves us.  Fear not, our strength comes from the Lord. What ever we are going through…He knows, He is with us giving us strength moment by moment.

Remember, faith not fears…love not wars.

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Difficult issues at Christmas)

Fit Bit: Difficult issues this Christmas
It has come to my attention, many of us are dealing with difficult issues this Christmas.   The holiday season brings joy, yet we can also feel the pain.

I too have painful, hurtful thought patterns.  I combat these thoughts by calling on the name of Jesus!  I call on Jesus as soon as the destructive, hopeless thought occurs.  This helps me.  When I forget to call on Him.  My hopelessness sets in.

This Christmas, replace the pain with His promise.  Christ is born, we are forgiven, and we have a new life moment by moment. (Five minutes ago is just as over as 5 years ago.) Today, don’t let sorrow enter in.  Call on the name of Jesus and trust that He loves you and will take care of all you need.

Philippians 3:13  “ Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.”
Philippians 4:19 “ But my God, shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Happiest Holiday?

Fit Bit  (Happiest Holiday ever?)
Question:   This Christmas I am broke, I am busy and I don’t want to do the Christmas cookies, cards etc.…  I am over stressed.  How do I find the Christmas spirit?

ANNswer; Start with thanksgiving.  Many of us do not have what we want.  We have lost someone we love.  We have limited finances.  We are struggling with depression…you name it our population is largely, unhealthy.  We can look at what we do not have and continue in our misery or we can be thankful for what we do have and be happy.

The secret of happiness;  Is not having what you want it is wanting what you have.
We each have the ability to control what we think.  If we want;

The Happiest Holiday ever!

We simply need to decide to, enjoy the moments God provides for us, and do it!!!

Proverbs 23:7  “ As a man thinkith is his heart so shall he be.”

In all things be thankful.

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

PS   I am trying to take this advice myself.  After my sons brain injury he has been very difficult to deal with.   It has been all consuming and it doesn’t feel like Christmas is this close.  When I get back to God and spend time in thanksgiving.  It doesn’t matter to me if I have the cookies, cards or shopping done.  It simply matters to me that Jesus is my savior and He will work all things out for good. (Romans 8:28)

Fit Bit ( Holiday Spirit)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (Holiday Spirit)
This Holy season I am especially thankful.  Each day, each moment I am in awe of how fortunate we are to still have Chan with us here in this world.  With Chan’s brain injury he needs a special environment to optimize his healing.  He needs a quiet, non-threatening, secure loving and encouraging home.  Isn’t that what we all need?  Why should a doctor have to explain this type of environment?
  It’s common sense.
Common sense is not always common practice.
This Christmas, we have not bought presents, made cookies, or sent out cards.  We are trying to make our home a loving Christian environment.  I would like to tell you it is going great.  Yet, we are still fallen people, messed up in different ways.  My prayer for us all, this Holy season, is we can live in thanksgiving allowing the peace of Jesus Christ to flow through us.  Truly, the only way, I know to have a healthful environment is to put Jesus first.

Mathew 1:21  “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Mark 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.”

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He gives us His helper, the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit that provides the Holiday Spirit!

May His Holiday Spirit be evident in each of our homes, this Christmas season
and thereafter.

Merry Christmas!

Fit Bit ( Gaurdian Angel)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (Guardian Angel)
Many of you may know my Son was involved in a horrible car accident November 22, 2011.  He rolled his car six times, starting t a speed estimated at 100mph.  When his vehicle came to a stop he was ejected approximately 20 feet.   When the Sherriff came upon him, he was not breathing.  She readjusted his airway and he took a breath.  (I am very thankful for this officer.  I am very thankful she remembered her first aid skills in the middle of this horror.)   I have been a firefighter and EMT for the past 20 years.  I have seen many people loose their lives in far less significant events.  I believe it is a true miracle that my son Channing is alive today.  I believe it is a true miracle that he is expected to make a full recovery.

How is this possible?  With God, all things are possible.
Psalm 91: 11 “ For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee is all thy ways.”

My son was in a coma for three days.  When he awoke
Chan said, “Mom, someone was in the car with me!”
I said, “No, son your were alone.”
He insisted, “ Mom, someone was in the car with me!”
 I asked,  “Was it Jesus?”
Chan replied,  “No Mom, Jesus doesn’t look like that.”
Mom; “What did he look like son? “
Chan: “ He was a boy, with blonde hair, blonde curly hair.”  It was Brandon.
Mom; “No son, Brandon wasn’t with you.”
Chan;  “ It was Colin.’
Mom;  “No son, Colin was at home that night.”
Chan;  “ Well I don’t know Mom, but someone was in the car with me, I want to talk to him, I bet he has one heck of a story to tell.”

Chan does not remember his accident.  He incurred a serious brain injury. Yet, he is adamant, their was someone in the car with him that night!!

Thank you God for sending your Guardian Angel!

Merry Christmas,

Kimberly

Holy for the Holidays (week one/Holy=Thankful)

Holy for the Holidays (Thankful)  Week one

Good morning,

This week my Son Channing was in a serious car accident.  He has a brain injury and several fractures to his back.    He has not wakened up very well yet.

I am thankful that he is alive and that he is expected to make a full recovery.  I am thankful that I have a multitude of friends and family praying for him.  I know that the healing hand of God is with Chan.  I am thankful!  I feel peace.  I trust God.

Today, please be thankful in your life.  Trust God, Feel His peace.

Romans 8:28  “ All things work out for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Please pray for Chan, pray that he calls on God, That he may know the healing hand of Jesus.

Fit Bit (forgive the unforgiveble?)

Fit Bit with Kimberly (relationships/forgiveness)
Question:  My Husband has done the unforgiveable.  I am angry.  I know in the Bible I am able to get divorced because of this.   I feel strong now, because of the anger.  What do I do?

ANNswer:   Love him.  I am not saying to condone his behavior, I am saying find a Christ type love inside you and love him.  If you have children, be careful not to lash out at him in front of them.  When we lash out at the mother or father of our children we are lashing out, at half of them. (This is advising I received from a family counselor during my divorce. I have found it to be very helpful.)

The pain of infidelity is paralyzing.  I have been the adulteress.  I have been forgiven.  I know that my heart has changed and I would not be that person today, through the help of Jesus.  I will never forget the day I was freed from this sin.  I changed my sheets; I put on fresh clean pink sheets.  I felt white as snow.  My marriage was not saved.  I was.  Today I will make a much better wife, if given the opportunity.  I have watched my best friends marriage be torn apart with infidelity and I have witnessed the power of Jesus in their marriage. They have forgiven each other and are now closer and happier then they were in high school.  All things are possible through Jesus.  Love is possible when we focus first on His love for us.  Is your husband’s sin unforgiveable?  I do not think any sin is unforgiveable.  I believe we can start fresh through Jesus.

I would console with your Pastor, if you don’t have one find a Christian family counselor and go from there.

Ephesians 4:32 “And be ye kind one to an other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

PS When my best friend suffered with infidelity I was the only one suggesting forgiveness.  I am so THANKFUL for FORGIVENESS!!

Holy for the Holidays (week one/Holy=Thankful)

Holy, Healthy and Happy for the Holidays (2011) Day 1

It is Thanksgiving week.  We are officially kicking off the Holidays.  For the next six weeks we will be tempted to over eat, over spend and over stress.  To combat that,
Let’s support each other in a Holy, Healthy and Happy lifestyle.

I will be sending out an email three times a week focusing on our topic of the week.  Please share your thoughts.    You can respond to all or go to Faith Centered Fitness face book page.

Day 1.

HOLY

This week is Thanksgiving.  A thankful heart is a great place to start.  This week’s theme is “Thank you Lord!”
We all have things going on, which cause us stress.  Yet, Roman 8:28 tells us ”All things work out for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”  Many of our blessings do not seem to be blessings at first.  If we get caught up in what is wrong, it is hard for us to see what is right.  If we focus on the negative things, grumbling and complaining we rob ourselves of the Joy God has for us.  This week let’s be thankful for what we have.  I love the saying; “It is not having what you want that makes you happy, it is wanting what you have.”
1 Corinthians 1:4  “ I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ.”

None of us are deserving, we have been saved by Grace. “ Thank you Lord!”  Is our theme for the week.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Proverbs 31 day 54

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 54
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31 24-25  “She maketh fine linen and selleth it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant.  Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in the time to come.”

Internet marketing is Donna’s theme for today.   I have sold a few things on the Internet and it works pretty slick.  Donna’s suggestions are good ones.

I like the last part of this verse; “She shall rejoice in the time to come.”  I sat down with a friend of mine yesterday.  She lost her husband to cancer about three years ago.  She is from Peru and now has two young children here in the State’s.  She is on her own.  Her family is still in Peru.  She told me, “ You know I just trust God.  I start to worry and then I stop and say to Him, “You are in control, I trust you.”  She testified, “My faith give me a full heart”.   We can all have a full heart.  With a full heart through Jesus we will rejoice in a time to come…regardless of our circumstances.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 53
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31 24-25  “She maketh fine linen and selleth it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant.  Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in the time to come.”

Today Donna talks about buying real estate; Our Mary is the gal to talk to!!!  I personally do not know much about this.

Strength and Honor are her clothing;
Today I want to remember that regardless of what I am wearing on the outside if I don’t wear His strength and Honor on my inside my day is destined to mass SIN.   (Thank God I am forgiven) When I live trying my best to honor Him, I am happier.  I cannot control how my mother, my children, co-workers or ex-husband acts I can react with strength and honor. PRAISE GOD!!!  I do not have to get caught in the muck today!  I am clothed in strength and honor!!!

1 Peter 3:17  “ For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”

Fit Bit with Kimberly (Holy Holidays)
Question:  I know that I should be more disciplined in my life style but I don’t have the energy.  It is too hard to change.  The Holidays are coming up.  I plan on getting more serious Jan. 1st.  Do you have a program starting then?

ANNswer; In January we will be starting a full “Faith Centered Fitness” lifestyle program so please sign up.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life!!  I know it is hard to change.  Yet, through Jesus Christ all things are possible.  I use to be trapped in my many horrible decisions, SINS; now I am truly set free!  Freedom is here, this moment for YOU!
Whatever sin you are fighting with, your battle can be won through Christ.  The holidays are approaching fast.  The holidays are the HOLY DAYS!!!  This is a great time of year to dedicate your actions intentionally to honor our risen Lord JESUS!
Many of us fall into anxiety, gluttony, materialism and drunkenness throughout the “holiday season” Thus the expression”Tis the season”.  This year, be committed to acting HOLY trough the Holidays and you will find a greater peace then you can by starting a disciplined diet in January.

1 Peter 3:14 a “But and if ye suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye.
1 Peter 3:17    “For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 52
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31 24-25  “She maketh fine linen and selleth it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant.  Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in the time to come.”

I personally have not been very successful at making extra money.  Yet, I do consider myself successful.  Money is not my main motivator.  I figure that God will bless my efforts when I follow my heart.   I read once; “ help as many people as you can and you will be successful.”.   I started volunteering about seven years ago.  In my volunteering I discovered I could help a multitude of people.  Volunteering keeps my motives in check and helps me develop skills for the work force. Financial success is not the only determinate of our ability to be productive.
I believe that when we touch one person’s heart they can go on and touch another and so on… I see this as; Residual sources of income! (Smile)
Revelation 22:12 “ And behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give everyman according as his work shall be.”

Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31 24-25  “She maketh fine linen and selleth it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant.  Strength and honor are her clothing and she shall rejoice in the time to come.”

This week’s topic is home enterprising.
It is my firm belief that we are to work diligently to provide a holy, healthful, happy home.  I believe that as women, we are the caretakers of the home.   We are responsible for its function.  That is a very tall order ladies!!!  Having a God based home requires us to work diligently.  We need to keep it His, keep it peaceful, healthful and a place to thrive.  Part of thriving is teaching and learning independence.  (First let’s be dependent on God so we can be independent in the world.)  Working in the home and from home provides a good financial base. In todays world many of us are unemployed.  Creating our own home-based source of income is a viable option.

1 Thessalonians 4:11  “ And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, a we commanded you:  That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.”

proverbs 31 day 48

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 48
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31:10-23 “Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies… 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.  23  Her husband is know in the gates, when he sitteth among the eders of the land.”

Each Saturday and Sunday we reflect on where we are so far.  I think the most important part of the Proverbs 31 study is establishing a daily commitment to time alone with God.  Committing to reflect on His word daily is life changing.   How are you doing on that?
When I focus on Gods’ love for me and remember He is with me always; even my worst day, becomes tolerable.

Mathews 28:20 ”…Lo, I am with you always, even to the ends of the earth”

proverbs 31 day 47

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 47
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31:22-23  “She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the
land.”
.”
Inner beauty verse external beauty; How do you do in the battle?

Inner beauty produces outer glory.   Outer beauty can lead to internal turmoil.
I have noticed, when I focus on my outer appearance; wearing my high-end clothes, driving my good car, and manicuring my make-up and nails to perfection I can feel a bit judgmental and a bit hoity, toity.
Inner beauty radiates outer glory when we fill ourselves with Gods;’ love.  His loves us 24/7.  When I accept that love and bask in His presence, I feel beautiful on the inside and people can see His beauty regardless of what the designer label I may or may not have on.

1 Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible even the ornament of  a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.”

proverbs 31 day 46

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 46
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31:22-23  “She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the
land.”

“The importance of being Modest” is our topic of the day.

If we are to illustrate being a loving, kind, respectable women, a Proverbs 31 woman, we have to pay attention to how we dress.  Modest, conservative, well coordinated is the way to go.  When we dress in a way, which shows, off our sexuality we are inviting others to think lustfully about us.  As beautiful women of God we want to have people see our loving hearts so they want to know Jesus too.  If those who look at us only see our cleavage, short skirts or horrible fashion sense we cannot easily illustrate the love of God.  Today and each day, ask yourself,  ”Do I look good?  Am I dressed respectable?  Am I dressed as a Proverbs 31 woman?

1 Timothy 2:9-10  “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with braided hair, or gold, or pearls or costly array.  But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.”

Proverbs 31 day 45

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 45
Scripture to Memorize:
Proverbs 31:22-23  “She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.  Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the
land.”
Today, Donna has us purge our accessories.  I am not commenting on that today, we have all been through various purges.   I agree with her… less is more!

“She makes coverings for her bed;” When, my room is clean and my bed clothed in good pillows, fresh sheets and a fresh comforter my bed feels more inviting and I feel better getting into it.  Those of you whom are married it is the place where you can have ”pillow talk”.  I suggest today, we freshen up our beds.  I simply change my sheets and comforter with what I already own and it really helps me.

Our beds our special, they are where we refresh ourselves and start each day.  Give them to God.

Proverbs 3:24  “ When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid; yea, thou shall lie down and thy sleep will be sweet.”

Be fit and be blessed,

I hope my "off the book commen"t is not offensive to you.  I just thought this is important and it fits with the scripture.

Today we are half way there ladies!  How are you doing?  Take the opportunity to connect with someone else you know doing this study and check in.  It is easy to give up, let’s be each other’s encouragement.

What is our ideal body weight?  I checked out the body mass index in Donna’s book and I am obese.  Yuck!!!  I struggle with sweets at night, which is my downfall.  I get daily exercise and I am able to do the activities I desire to do and enjoy doing.  I would like to lose the 5-10 pounds that will put me in the normal range, but for the past 10 years I have been unwilling to embrace that disciple.  At an American College of Sports Medicine training seminar I learned, it is better to be 25pounds over weight and fit then to be at your ideal body weight or under and unfit.  When you determine the weight you want to maintain for a lifetime, make sure it includes fitness!

1 Timothy 4:8  “ For bodily exercise profiteth little; but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. “

1 Corinthians 9:27  “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection; lest that by any means when I have preached to others, I myself should be castaway.”

Fit Bit (RoleModel)

Fit Bit with Kimberly  (Role Model)
Question; I am in charge of a small Bible study.  In this group I have many dysfunctional women.  They want a better life and I want t to help them.  They attend the study and then go back out and continue to live a painful life.  What can I do to help them?
Annswer:  Try your best to be a good Role Model.  Love God (holy), Love yourself (healthy) and Love others (happy).

People around us notice what we do.  As I try to help women know God deeper and walk a better walk I try to be a good Role Model.
1.   I share with them how Jesus gives me His promises and takes away my pain.
 2.   I show them how I ask Him in daily both in thanksgiving and prayer requests.
3.   I show them how I take care of my physical body and how to focus on healthful productive activities.
4.  I show them the things I do to enjoy my life clean and sober to avoid backsliding.

When I quit drinking and all the crap that went with it I needed a clear direction of what to do.  The Bible is full of clear direction.  Keep steering them in the right direction, loving them unconditionally.   Do this through your strength in Jesus.

Ephesians 5:8  “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord; walk as children of light:

Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31:10-21 “Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies… 20.She strectcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.”

Saturdays are catch up days.  This week we focused on personal finances.  If we can manage our recourses well we will have the desire and ability to give to the poor and needy.  If we squander our recourses we will feel the need to be stingy.  I have been poor, poor in spirit and poor in finances when I feel broke I have nothing to give.  First, I fill myself with the love of God.  He is there 24/7 regardless of how badly I may of screwed up.  Accepting His love I have love in my heart and that makes it natural to give to others without feeling depleted myself.  For me, this week reminded me to be secure in the Lord and take that love to the poor and needy in whatever way God shows me to do.

Pay yourself first, is way of saving money that works for me.
I started saving for retirement this way when I started at the Fire Department.  I have payroll take out a certain amount each month and I have a company manage the investments.  I do not worry f the stock market crashes, I just think to myself, “ Everything is on sale!”  Paying my tithe and myself first automatically helps me keep both commitments.   My 80% seems to go further if I do this.  When I do not pay God and myself first my 100% seems to get dwindled away.

Proverbs 13:11  “ Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished:  but he that gathereth by labor shall increase.”

Be a cash only spender!
What a fantastic concept.  My sister started this after a long tough battle out of debt.  She then was able to transfer the idea of; when the money is gone  I have to stop spending to when my points are gone I have to stop eating (she did Weight Watchers and lost 70+pounds) When I use cash I am more aware of how quickly I am going through the money.  I do think twice about spending it.  How about you?  This week take out cash for the rest of the week and try to operate on a strictly cash only  basis and see how you do.  Mary Jane found the verse I was looking for yesterday.

Proverbs 22:7    “The rich rules over the poor,
And the borrower is servant to the lender.”

proverbs 31 study day38

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 38
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31:20-21 “She strectcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.”

Debt reduction is the topic for today.  In the Bible, I have seen where it says, “who ever we are in debt to we are enslaved to.“ (I could not find this passage this morning could anyone help me here?)  This is powerful motivation to be debt free.  To eliminate debt we start by paying off the smallest first and keep plugging way from there. (See Dave Ramsey’s book “The Total Money Makeover”)  Debt is easy to accumulate and difficult to discipline out of.  We live in a society of instant gratification.  Paying down debt is prolonged gratification.  It is kind of like eating the cake before the frosting.
Romans 13:7-8  “Render therefore to all their dues; tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.
Owe no man anything, but to love one another; for he that loveth hath fulfilled the law.”

proverbs 31 study day37

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 37
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31:20-21 “She strectcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.”

In order to give to the poor and needy we need to be in a healthful mindset.  Financial distress is common cause for anxiety in many of us.  First and foremast remember that God has an unlimited bank account and He will provide.  Have faith not fear.

The issue becomes us doing our part.
1.    We need to manage what we have.
2.    We need to intelligently decide to invest in assets verses liabilities.
Asset=something that produces reourses.
Liability=something that depletes recourses.

Personally, I think my time is my greatest asset.  When I focus my time on loving God and serving Him, I become a generous giver and more responsible with what He has given me.  This produces abundance in my life.   My Aunt Karen once told me, “ Kimberly if you want to have more money learn how to spend less.”

Mathew 6:24  “No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.  Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

proverbs 31 study day36

Proverbs Study Kimberly’s take day 36
Scripture to Memorize:

Proverbs 31:20-21 “She strectcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household; for all her household are clothed with scarlet.”

Today’s topic is tithe.  We need to give to God our first fruits.  What does that mean?  Do we give Him the first 10% of our pay?  In Donnas book she states,” 90%plus God is better then 100% without Him.”  Most of us agree a 10% tithe is the amount we need to give to God.  I posed this question to a Pastor friend of mine.  He said, “10% was not realistic for some people.  Some can only give $5-20 a week.  Which is less then 10% but they do it consistently, with a happy heart.  The amount is between each individual and God.”

I personally believe we are to give Him the first of our time too.  When I spend my first moments with God the rest of my day is better.  I can more easily be a cheerful giver to others when I start my day off giving my time to God.

2 Corinthians 9:7”Everyman according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity; for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
