Fit Bit (Happy Spring)

Fit Bit (Happy Spring!)
Yesterday was the first official day of Spring.  Happy Spring!

Spring is such a wonderful time!  Out with the old, in with the new.  Many of us have projects that we have saved for “Spring Cleaning”.  Motivation is easier in the Spring the sun is warmer and out longer the birds are chirping and hope abides.  What a wonderful time for Easter!  Easter is where true hope abides.

This Winter you may have developed some sedentary habits, and other things you would like to be free from.  Jesus is the great healer, the one who frees us.  Winter is over.  Spring has sprung.  Put on the motivated you!  Exercise and moving helps us get and stay motivated.  This spring find activities that can be considered exercise which are recreational and restful in nature. Commit to doing them daily.

Examples: Walking, bicycling, dancing, gardening, cleaning, yard work or here in Wisconsin (with a foot of snow still on the ground) Spring skiing. (Smile)

The American Heart Association recommends that we intentionally move an hour a day.  In order for us to do this we need desire.  I motivate remembering my physical body is our LORDS’.   This life is His.  Spring is good times to re-up our commitment to take great care the life He has given us.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20  “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body.”

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit ( Happy St. Pat's)

Fit Bit (Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!)
St Patrick’s Day, what a very special holiday!!

Many people associate St Patty’s with green beer and Lepricons.    That is not why I celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  This day I remember a Saint who explained our holy trinity by using the shamrock.  Brilliant!!  I think it is difficult to explain this concept and one of the most important explanations as Christians we should know how to give.

This day 9 years ago was a day of enlightenment for me.  I was going through alcohol rehab and had finished my sixth step, (which is confessing my character defects to another person) I was strongly convicted that I needed Jesus.  I remembered Him from my youth, but my sin had made me feel so unlovable I felt unworthy of His love.   I broke down and asked Him for help.

That very evening;

1.     I felt His Holy Spirit convict me that through the blood of Christ I was washed clean of all the horrible things I had done.  It was His Holy Spirit that allowed me to believe.
2.     I knew that Through the Sacrifice of Jesus, I was mad beautiful again.  I felt right as rain and clean as snow.  I felt I was fresh, like a virgin again.  I was made right with God.
3.     I knew that God, Our Heavenly Father and creator loved me and wanted to give me hope and a future.  I knew He had plans for me.  I felt the scales being removed from my eyes.  I could see clearly for the first time in a long time and I knew the direction He wanted me to go.  To Him, in all that I think, say and do.
This day nine years ago altered my life.  It was altered because God is infinitely intimate with me because He is a triune God.

I have fallen short since this day; I have not done all the things that were put on my heart that day.  I have been discouraged and lazy.  Yet by reading His word, The Bible and fellowshipping with other Christians I am still trying to walk in the direction He has called me.

Today let each and everyone of us realize He is with us helping us as only as HE can.  Spread the news of Our Heavenly Father, the salvation made possible because He is a triune God!!!

Romans 7;4-6  “So my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.  5 For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death.  6 But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. “

Romans 7:15  “I do not understand what I do.  For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.”

We have not been made perfect, we have been forgiven!  Celebrate Our Triune God today!!  Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Spring is in the air)

Fit Bit (Breaking into Spring!)
Spring is in the air!!!!

Yes, I do understand that there is a foot of snow on the ground.  Yet, I am sure you have noticed the birds’ chirping more vehemently, the suns’ rays intensely warming and the energizing daylight hours have increased.  Spring is on its way!!!

Are you ready to do the things you would like to do now that the weather is breaking?  Or have you fallen into sedentary lifestyle patterns that plague many of us during Mid-Western Winter?

Be encouraged to break the chains of sedentary!!!!

1.  Make a list of the things you would like to do this Spring and Summer.
2.  Post the list in a prominent place so you will be reminded of it daily.
3.  Devise a “plan”, so you will be able to enjoy the upcoming events.
4.  Stick to it!!!  Regardless of how many times you slip back, stick to it!!

2 Peter 1:5-8  “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.  8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our LORD Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20  “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own.  20 You were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body.”

If you would like help getting motivated or figuring out what to do, I am available to help you.
1.     I can come to your Church and help you set up a group of like-minded friends giving you all a plan, empowerment and encouragement.  (Ecclesiastes 4:12)
2.     I can work with you individually at your home, on the phone or on-line.
3.     I can help you facilitate a Christian Wellness retreat for you, your small or large group.

Please contact me; I would love to help you be the person you want to be!
What is impossible with man is possible with Christ.

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
