Fit Bit (Stand for Something)

Fit Bit (Stand for Something)

If you don’t stand for something everything can sway you.  Today, we live in a politically correct environment.   We are pressured to be lukewarm on issues that are passionate to our hearts.  Revelation 3:16 “Because you are lukewarm, neither hot or cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”  When, I stand up for my faith, and declare it to be true, I feel strong.  Sometimes, I am too timid to do so, because of peer pressure. When, I dig deep with God and voice my Biblically based opinion, I feel the rooting and grounding of Christ strengthen me.   I have more validity when I can refer to a Bible verse that supports my stand.  Romans 14:16  “Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.”

It is important to not wavier on God’s stand while being loving and kind toward others without a judgmental attitude.

Romans 14:9-10  “For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that He might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.  10 You then, why do you judge your brother?  Or why do you look down on your brother?  For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.”

When I wavier on issues and pass judgment on others, I feel an emptiness creep in my soul, at that point I am tempted to fill the emptiness with unhealthy activities, forgetting that Jesus is the one way I can be filled to overflowing.

Fit Bit (fear)

Fit Bit (Fear)
7am and once again, I am tempted to live in the spirit of fear.

I am a single mom of three boys; my 22-year-old twins live with me.  They drink and I fear that they also drive.  Today, one of the twins is still not home from last night; most likely he went to a friend’s house, yet the spirit of fear tries to take me captive telling me, he is lying in a ditch dead. What if that is so?  I trust that God has him even then.  The truth is some mothers do lose their sons.  Yet, I believe God hears our prayers and is with those children too, regardless of how fearful we may be tempted feel.

It is easy to live in fear, it is easy to see what is wrong, it is easy to feel hopeless; THIS IS NOT WHAT GOD WANTS FOR US!

Romans 8:6  “The mind of a sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.”

Romans 8:15  “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by Him we cry. “Abba, Father”.  16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

When I am tempted to walk in fear, I trust GOD.  I know that even in the worst-case scenario.  He is there!!
When, I forget this basic truth, I tend to over eat, stress out and live a worrisome life.

Today, try to remember GOD’S GOT THIS!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (Rage)

Fit Bit (Rage)
I love being on the water in the summer time.  My favorite thing is to solemn water ski, when the water is glass.  For me, the feeling of cutting the glass with my ski is like hitting a home run with the bases loaded.  My opportunity to do this activity is relatively rare.  Yesterday, I had the perfect opportunity.  The sun was setting and the water was perfect.  No boats on the lake and people to help.  My son thought it would be funny to take his jet ski out on the water and mess up my “glass”.  I became filled with rage.  I am usually someone who can hold her temper, but I lost it.  I cursed, and through a life jacket into the water, I was like a two year old having a temper tantrum.    I took a long walk to calm down.

My rage, was possibly due to the glass being messed up, but I think it stemmed deeper then that.  As I reflected on my rage, I realized I was getting to my limit because I had been doing for everyone else and had not been able to do for me.
 I need to;
1.     Read my Bible daily.
2.     Take quiet time for myself.
3.     Get daily exercise.
4.     Eat healthy.
5.     Be a blessing to others
When I do these things I feel healthy and whole, so small matters such as water skiing, don’t blow me up.  Yesterday, I had my Bible time in, and was being a blessing to others, but I had eaten mostly junk food and had little exercise.

My rage was, “ I do for everyone else, and the least they could do is…”

WOW, what a crappy attitude!!  If I do for others to get something in return, that is not very Christian.

1 Corinthians 6:19  “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Be fit and be blessed,
