Healthy and Well (soul 1)

Healthy and Well (Soul 1)
Body- Mind- Soul    this is the focus of many wellness programs today.

Faith Centered Fitness, in its simplicity is body, mind, and soul;

 Body=Love yourself =treat your body like His temple not your trashcan.
 Mind= Love God= be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
  Soul= Love others=Love others as Christ loves you.

So far, in our “Healthy and Well for 2012” we have focused on our bodies and our minds.  How are you doing so far? Are you treating your body as His temple?    Are you combatting defeating, fearful, worrisome thoughts with Gods word, His promises?
To be successful in a Faith Centered lifestyle, make a daily commitment to Mathew 6:33 “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.”.   Don’t be discouraged if you have started to fall back into old habits, simply start fresh today, moment-by-moment.  Through Jesus Christ we are forgiven, we have a fresh start each moment.  Accept the New life Jesus died to give you.  Keep on keeping on in a direction pleasing to Him.

SOUL= When our souls are full and happy we are content and able to do His will.  When we feel empty inside, we are needy and likely to fill ourselves with the fad of the day, In an empty state we are more likely treat our bodies as trash cans and become discouraged in our thinking. The only way to be truly full is to let God through Jesus Christ enter into our lives so we can be full  with His Holy Spirit.

Today, ask God to keep you full on the inside.  If you feel yourself starting to be torn or empty, call on Him.  Ask Him to fill you up.  This week we will focus on being full of His love so we have what it takes to give it away.  (Love others)

Ephesians 2:10  “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

Healthy and Well (mind5)

Healthy and Well (mind5)
Mark 11:23-24  “For assuredly, I say to you, whosoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
                        24;  “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

DO YOU BELIEVE?  It is so easy to doubt.  The world we live in promotes doubt.  We are not for this world but that which is to come.  Meanwhile we are here.  KEEP THE FAITH!  Many times things seem bleak.  It appears our efforts are with no rewards.  Remember to trust God and BELIEVE, His promises will come to pass in our lives.  This is truth!  Trust without doubt.  When doubt enters into your mind, Tell God, “Father I believe, help me with my unbelief.

Sometimes our diets, children, finances or work situations seem like our efforts are for not.  Don’t worry, BELIEVE.  Jesus said,”Lo I am with you always.”

Romans 8:28  “ All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to HIs purpose.”

Fit Bit (control the tongue)

Fit Bit (control the tongue)
Question:   Recently, I have been a bit, “out of control”.   Eating many sweets gossiping and complaining, I know better, but I just feel so out of control.  How do I get back on track?

ANNswer:  Pray, read scripture and use your tongue for good.  When you fill yourself with what is good, pure and holy that will permeate your soul and good pure and holy will come out more readily then other behaviors.

  Our tongues can get us into trouble in a couple of ways;

 One, on our tongues we have taste buds.  If we let our taste buds control us instead of controlling them we, over eat for pleasure.  It is not pleasurable to wake up one morning with 20 additional pounds.  Take control over your taste buds!!  You can do this by deciding to enjoy eating foods that are nutritious1 and avoid sugary sweets that can be so addictive.

Two, Our tongues defile us.  Jesus said, “ Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles him.” (Mathew 15:11) It is easy to run at the mouth, stop it!!!  As a Christian you have the Holy Spirits’ guidance, you know when you are about to enter into gossip or complaining, stop it!!!  Sometimes you may not realize what you are doing but about half way through your sentence you do…stop it, mid sentence! ( It is especially not OK to gossip about our children, husbands or other family members)

This week watch your tongues, don’t’ let garbage in and don’t let garbage out!!

Proverbs 10:16 “The mouth of the righteous is a well of life.  But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.”

James 1:26  “If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his own tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”

Healthy and Well(mind4)

Healthy and Well (mind 4)
Thinking, thinking thinking…what are you thinking?

Proverbs 23:7  “As a man thinkith in his heart so shall he be.”

Are you thinking on what is pure, what is holy, what is praiseworthy?

Philippians 4:8  “Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.”
What are you feeding yourself?  Do you feed yourself the word of God day in and day out?  Or are you feeding on pop radio, reality TV, gossip or complaining?  What goes in comes out.  Have you heard the expression you are what you eat?

Mark 7:15  “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.”
Do you remember, that three thoughts strung together create a feeling, and a fourth thought an action?  When we fill ourselves with worry, fear or doubt. Our thoughts, words and actions will follow.  Today and each day forward, make a commitment to fill you with the word of God.  When fear, doubt or worry try to sneak in, combat those thoughts by remembering God, is with us 24/7, He will never leave us or forsake us.  He will work all things out for good.  Repetition is memories twin. Feed yourself over and over again the promises of God. His words will be your foundation.  You will be built on the ROCK!

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly

Fit Bit (snapped)

Fit Bit (snapped)
Question:  Last night I snapped.  I was doing great on my sweet free diet throughout Lent, and then last night I consumed over 800 calories of sweets in addition to my regular food.   How can I keep from snapping in the future?

ANNswer:  Practice, practice, practice and control your initial thinking.  We all snap once in a while.  It can be with sweets, forgiveness, overspending, anger; you name it we all loose control once in a while.   In order to gain control more often then not we have to be able to control our thoughts.  Your initial thought, when you decided to break your sweet fast could have been;

“ I’m not breaking my fast, I am feeling great and I’m honoring God, I’ll have a glass of water to curb this thought.”

Instead your most likely line of thinking was;

“Yes, I can break this fast. I deserve it, I’ve been good, it’s not Lent anymore.”

  One cookie is a reasonable fast breaker, 800 calories is not.  We all do this; we blow it a little and then decide “WHAT THE HECK”.  In order to avoid snapping; keep on keeping on.  The more you think, say and do what the Holy Spirit guides you to do the easier it will become to resist the temptation to LOOSE IT.

    Today is a new day.  Accept the forgiveness Jesus died to give you.   Fill yourself with the words of God.  Think on His promises and leave your pain behind.

James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Philippians 4:8  “Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.”

Be fit and be blessed,
