Fit Bit (Take off your grave clothes)
John 11:38-44 “Jesus
Raises Lazarus from the Dead”
Lazarus had been dead for four days. Jesus came to the spot, where he had been
laid.
11:43 When He had said this, Jesus called in a loud
voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44The dead man came out, his hands
and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take
off the grave clothes and let him go.”
TAKE OFF THE GRAVE CLOTHES.
When I read this I think of shaking off the sin, that so
easily ensnares me, WHILE MOVING FORWARD WITH CHRIST! (See Hebrews 12:1)
Yesterday was my birthday, and like all birthdays, I think;
“How can I improve my life year? What
sins can I try to eradicate from my life?”
My list is long…. so I will try to just pick a couple things. When we try to change everything it can
become overwhelming and we can easily give up.
Reading this passage from John, gives me extra motivation to take off my
grave clothes. The sins, behaviors that
keep me stuck in the muck.
