Fit Bit
(Relationships/dating)
It has been a bit over a year since I lost my dearest friend
Frank. He was a World War II Navy Vet, a
wonderful man. If Frank would have bee
about 40 years younger I would have married him in a heartbeat. I spent a lot of time with my friend Frank,
and didn’t date much while he was alive.
Now that I have been dating a bit, I really miss my dear friend. He was a man who cherished me and wanted only
for my best, and I deeply respected him.
As I date, in today’s world that is something I am not finding. I am finding that many people are living for
the moment. “Let’s just have fun”, is
the theme for dating today. I do agree
that we should have fun, but when fun crosses the line to casual sexual
innuendos, and heavy flirty then for me it is not fun but a heavy burden.
The reason I share this story is to encourage any of you
reading this to wait on God. Don’t rush
things. Don’t compromise your
convictions for a few moments of fun. (Look at the story of David and
Bathsheba) Dating is a chance for you to
get to know if the person you are interested in is someone you will marry. If this person is not marriage material, then
have fun being their plutonic friend.
This isn’t the way of this world, but this is the way of peace with God. It is difficult to be single in today sexual
world. Be encouraged, we can do all
things through Jesus Christ whom strengthens us. (1Peter 5:7)
James 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good,
and doeth not, to him it is sin.”
James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from
you.”
(Read all of James 4 today, it really drive this point home)
1 John1: 9 “If
we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Be fit and be blessed,
Kimberly
