(Frank Vancil’s 90th Birthday!)
Old Testament Job 4:1-7:23 during these chapters, job is
ranting, in my opinion. I found it hard to get a lot of meaning except that he
was in great pain and would prefer death.
He asked for forgiveness but, did not know what he had done wrong. We learned earlier he had done nothing wrong;
this torment was simply a display of his faith.
Life lesson; Truly when we are suffering it is better to keep our eyes
on Jesus and His promises then on our pain.
New Testament Mathew 19:1-15 Jesus speaks here of
divorce. 4”Haven’t
you read”, he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them male and
female, 5 and said, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and
be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. 6 So they are no
longer two, but one. Therefore what God
has joined together, let man not separate.”
Life lesson; marriage is a physical joining between a man
and a woman, when we take it lightly we are tearing our very flesh apart.
Psalm 17:1-5 1”Hear O Lord, my righteous lea; listen
to my cry. Give ear to my prayer-it does
not rise from deceitful lips.” Side
note; wouldn’t it be nice we never had deceitful lips?
Happy Birthday my dear
friend, Francis J. Vancil!
