Question: I have been doing well on the Healthy and Well for 2012. I have lost 22 pounds since Jan.1. I am still struggling with exercise. I try to get up for five minutes, on the hour and move per your suggestion, but sometimes even that is not possible. I have been planning my meals and doing more housework and this is helping. Is there any thing else I can easily add in? I am planning on doing more outside work this spring and summer. Thank you for your encouragement.
ANNswer: GREAT JOB!!!!! A healthful life is all about balance. It sounds like you are getting it!! I bet you feel amazing!! Planning your menu is such an important part of weight control. I am glad you mentioned it. Exercise is important too. Making it a part of your day, that you enjoy and find benefit in, is important. Housework and yard work do burn calories and help get us in shape. Try adding uplifting music to your chores. When we listen to music we tend to move with the beat. This may help you work a bit harder and longer. Keep up the great work and thank you for your feedback.
