Lent challenge day 25

Lent Wellness Challenge Day 25
1 Peter 5:7  “ Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

Jeremiah 29:11   “ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, am dot of evil, to give you an expected end.

Sleep and rest are very important to our overall health.  We need our sleep, 8-10 hours a day in a dark, quiet environment.  Sleep is best when uninterrupted and at regular times and in a regular bed.  The average person who is sleeping deprived tends to be 25 pounds or more over weight.   Literally when we do not get enough good quality sleep we release hormones in our body that tell us we are hungry and can’t get full.  Most of us understand this because we grab high calorie foods when we are tired to help us perk up regardless of how this effects our health..

Sometimes we are tiered and cannot go to sleep.  Rest is sleep but it is also being able to sit quietly and relax.   We can recharge ourselves by simply sitting quietly and relaxing.   It can be difficult to sit quietly and relax especially when we are busy and have much to do.   One to five minutes of relaxing can make a big difference in our day!  When we take time to be quiet we are able to take the time to reconnect with God.  During this time we can call on Him for renewed strength and energy. We can trust in Him we can find rest.

How do you fit in the time to be quiet?

Be fit and be blessed,

Kimberly
